The first set of fixtures had been completed so it was quickly on to Round 2. The opening game of the round saw Bruton Black Cats taking on Skidmarks. The Black Cats (not from Sunderland) narrowly lost first time out and had a tough test in their quest for their first points of the day.

The Skidmarks team they faced were looking to secure a third eurofootballfives.com title and already had a win under their belts from Round 1. They were one of 7 teams joint 4th on the all-time list of tournament wins with 2. Should they be successful today they would move joint 2nd (with CIS Committee of Belarus and Athletico Do Hollande who both had 3 titles).

A Luke Hatfield goal saw Skidmarks into a 1-0 lead and as the game entered the final stages it looked like being two wins from two games but Bruton Black Cats had other ideas. Jonathon Bone equalized and then Joe Hunter put them 2-1 up in the closing minutes. As Skidmarks chased an equalizer they left the back door open and Jonathon Bone took full advantage to complete a fine 3-1 victory.

Atletico Bardino had started their opening game well against The Spice Boys but eventually slipped to defeat. They were looking to bounce back against Prospe FC. Prospe FC themselves were also looking to avenge opening game defeat (against Skidmarks).

Prospe FC were making their third appearance at the Barcelona Fives and on both occasions came into game two with points on the board – 1-0 win over The Matt-Adors in 2014 and a 3-3 draw with FC Shark in 2015. To avoid their worst start to a campaign they needed all three points and that is exactly what they got. David Pujol set them on their way before Daneil Bello added a second and then a third to secure a 3-0 victory.

Prospe FC were up and running in 2016. Atletico Bardino still had 5 more group games to get their tournament campaign on track.

On Pitch C we had a first game loser hosting a first game winner as Ladzio FC met Rapid Bosco Navas. When you have lost your first game as Ladzio FC had then the last thing you needed was to run into a previous winner. Here's Rapid Bosco Navas's full record in our tournaments:

November 2008: Winners.

June 2009: Won their group before losing on penalties in the Cup quarter-finals.

November 2009: Finished joint top of their group before going out in the Cup QF.

June 2010: Finished 2nd in their group before losing on penalties in the Cup Semi-Finals.

April 2011: Runners-Up.

November 2011: Finished 2nd in their group behind eventual winners Midshires FC. Then, went on and Lost 3-0 in Cup Semi-Finals to Hungary's FC Miracle.

April 2012: Finished joint top of their group before losing to Hungary's Budapest Celtic Pumas via Golden Goal in the Cup QF.

October 2013: Finished fourth in their group and knocked out in the Trophy Semi-Finals.

October 2014: Finished third in their group and knocked out in the Plate Quarter-Finals.

October 2015: Won Group E with 10 points out of 12. They were knocked out in the Cup Quarter-Final (4-0) by Elcombe Old Boys.

Rapid Bosco Navas were on the victory trail again here as Luis Lanoit and La Rata Martinez (2) helped them to a 3-0 win.

To complete Round 2 we had Telferscot FC versus The Spice Boys on Pitch D. Both teams had picked up good wins in the opening round and so a second victory here would see the victor have a joint share of the lead at the summit of Group B.

We had seen two 3-0 wins on Pitches B and C in Round 2 and would have another one here on Pitch D. If we tell you the first goal of this game was scored by Ryan Williams of The Spice Boys then you can work out who our victor was. Ryan Williams added the second to score his third goal in two games before Samuel Oduntan's first goal of the tournament completed the final scoreline.

The Spice Boys were off to a flyer in Group B and were our joint leaders with Rapid Bosco Navas.
