Ball Bashers and Real Sosobad kicked off Round 4. The two teams sat in second and third place in the table with three points separating them. A Ball Bashers win would see them join RAF at the top of the table. A Real Sosobad win would see them go level with their opponents and have a real chance of qualifying for the Cup competition.

Ball Bashers had the edge in the first half. Mati Ortiz opened the scoring and, in the process, kept up his record of scoring in every game. Real Sosobad hit back though courtesy of a strike from Alioune Thiam. Ball Bashers were back in front before the break though with a Ben Williams goal.

After the break Ball Bashers moved through the gears and eased away from their opponents as Angus Murray made it 3-1. Mati Ortiz then added a fourth and a fifth to complete his hat-trick. Ortiz almost didn't get credit for his goals though as the referee noted them down as “Roadz”.

There's a famous line in Back To The Future that reads, “Where we're going, we don't need roads.” Ball Bashers certainly did need Roadz though with his 6 tournament goals proving invaluable.

The next game of Round 4 was RAF versus Murder on Zidane's Floor. Every time RAF had opened up a three point lead at the top of the table, Ball Bashers had won to level the group up on points. RAF had a game in hand and could restore that 3 point lead at the top once again. The Portuguese team had a 100% record to boast and were looking like they could be the team to beat for this tournament.

Murder on Zidane's Floor were one of 4 teams on three points at present. If they could somehow get a positive result against their illustrious opponents it would put them in a good position going into the final round of games as they pushed for a Plate qualification place.

RAF showed no mercy on their opponents though. The league leaders literally hit their opponents for six with three goals in each half. Tiago Sousa got them off to a flyer with a first half double before Andre Mateus scored his first of the day. At the start of the second half Sousa completed his hat-trick for 4-0. Joao Fernandes and David Nascimento each scored to round off a superb performance. It was the biggest win in Group B and the second biggest win of the day.

To conclude Round 4 we had Cream of the South versus Freshers FC. The table had a funny look to it at the moment. We had RAF on 12 points, Ball Bashers on 9 points and all the other teams level on 3 points. With one round of fixtures to go, the winners of this tie would be favourites to reach the Plate and had an outside shot of making the Cup.

Cream of the South had started the day in fine fettle with a 2-1 win but since then they had slipped to two defeats. They knew they had Ball Bashers to come in Round 5 so if they were to qualify for the knockout phase they really needed to get something from this game. It started off pretty well for them as Thomas Wakeling gave them a 1-0 lead at half-time.

Freshers FC were staring down the barrel of defeat but they staged a fine second half recovery. Dan Murphy fired them level at 1-1 before Scott Efford edged his team ahead at 2-1. The icing on the cake came with the very last kick of the game. Joe Trigg firing home direct from a free kick. The goal was a damaging one for Cream of the South as it meant they slipped from 4th to 5th in the group table on goal difference.

It was a crucial 3-1 win for Freshers FC who were now favourites to qualify for the Plate. Cream of the South had some work to do but their fate was still in their own hands.
