We began Round 5 with the group perfectly set-up – we began with fourth versus second. Let's see what was at stake for the two teams:

Colden Hommodore: A win would see them move onto 8 points level with London French FC but ahead of them on goal difference. It would be enough to qualify for the Cup should Humble Goats fail to win their last game. If Humble Goats won their last game it would come down to goal difference for second/third positions. Should Colden Hommodore fail to win they would qualify for the Plate if FC Kicks failed to win.

London French FC: Needed a point or better to secure Cup qualification. Could even win Group A if they won and Dolce and Lallana lost. A defeat would see them drop down into the Plate.

What London French FC didn't need was to score an own goal and give Colden Hommodore the initiative. The score remained 1-0 into the second half before Colden Hommodore extended the lead to 2-0 with Alex Antonelli's fourth goal of the day. When Nathan Kilgore made it 3-0 the win was in the bag. Colden Hommodore would climb above their opponents but would have to wait and see if it was enough to reach the Cup competition.

It was tough on London French FC who had occupied the Cup qualification places throughout the day only to drop down to the Plate at the last minute. They would certainly be one of the favourites for that competition though.

Next up was Humble Goats versus Whiteley FC. Whiteley FC already knew this would be their final game of the day as they would finish in sixth place regardless of the result here but could they go out on a high?

Humble Goats certainly had a lot to play for. They needed a 3-goal win to climb from fourth place up to second place to reach the Cup. It seemed Humble Goats were well aware of the need to not only win but win big as they raced into a 3-0 lead at the break. Jihad L'Merrouni scored an opening brace before Raphael Antonio Olivero Hernandez made it 3.

After the break the goals kept on coming. Raphael Antonio Olivero Hernandez made it 4-0 before a double from Deyae El Kanfoudi made it 6-0. Whiteley FC had seemed to hit the wall and were now dead on their feet. Guillermo Darson continued the pain to make it 7-0. Wissam Albarho then scored twice – a goal either side of Deyae El Kanfoudi's hat-trick goal.

The 10-0 win was the biggest of the day and saw Humble Goats qualify for the Cup. We'd like to thank Whiteley FC for attending the tournament. They had some troubles with injuries and rebooked flights – we are grateful for their commitment not just for this tour but over the last 14 years!

Last but not least, we had Dolce and Lallana versus FC Kicks. The results of the aforementioned games in Round 5 meant this was now a dead rubber. Dolce and Lallana would win Group A regardless of this result but they would naturally want to keep momentum going into the knock-out phase.

FC Kicks were 4 points off fourth place so even a win (and it would be a hugely impressive win) would still see them finish a point behind the 3 teams level on 8 points.

Once we kicked off it was Dolce and Lallana who took the lead as the game went with the form book. Luke Webley scored his third goal of the tournament to put the English team ahead. William Gooch then opened his personal account to make it 2-0. FC Kicks reduced the lead to 2-1 thanks to Jamal Djular Khan. They were still fighting for this game as the teams swapped ends.

In the second period, Max Bowman put the game to bed with his team's third of the game. It was win #4 for Dolce and Lallana and they crowned a superb group phase by winning Group A.
