At the start of Round 3 we had Real Sosbad versus Murder on Zidane's Floor.

The game was a derby match between the two touring sister squads. It is not often teams from the same club meet in eurofootballfives competition but when they do it often has a strange atmosphere – sometimes the games can lack a little intensity or sometimes the games can have a bit too much intensity with players determined not to lose to their tour-mates.

This game was played in good spirit and at the end of the game there was one team who would certainly be in better spirits than the other. Murder on Zidane's Floor had the better of the results so far today but it was Real Sosobad who struck first. Fahad Ahmed was the man with the goal. Alex Kahl then scored his third of the tournament to give his side a 2-0 lead at the break.

Real Sosobad were 50% of the way to securing their first victory of the day and they took another step towards 3 points when Alex Kahl scored his second of the game after the break. Murder on Zidane's Floor had the final say when Roel May made it 3-1 but Real Sosobad would not worry too much, they had all 3 points. Final score, 3-1.

Freshers FC versus Ball Bashers was the next item on the Group B menu. Group B had showed us that all teams were capable of taking points off each other. As things stood, we had five teams locked together on 3 points although some of those teams had a game in hand. Portugal's RAF lead the way and this match was a chance for the winner to join them at the top of Group B.

What followed was a very close and evenly fought contest. The two teams were separated by a solitary strike in the first half. The goal came from Mati Ortiz who maintained his record of scoring in every game thus far.

The second half was a defensive display for Ball Bashers. For Freshers FC it was déjà vu from their game against RAF whereby they enjoyed most of the second half territory & possession but were unable to score the goals to recover a draw. Matt Brand and his defensive allies stood firm and collected their second clean sheet of the day and their second 3 points of the day.

Game #9 of Group B was Cream of the South versus RAF. Cream of the South had opened up with victory but had just tasted defeat for the first time today. They would be looking to bounce back immediately but their opponents were far from ideal for this purpose. RAF had two wins from two and were our league leaders at the start of the round. A win here for the Portuguese and they would maintain that 3 point lead at the top of the table.

Tiago Nogueira was RAF's man in form in front of goal. He scored 6 goals at the 2022 Lisbon Tournament and took his tally today to 4 when he gave his team a first half-lead. After the break he was amongst the goals again as his fifth of the tournament extended the lead to 2-0. Tiago Sousa scored 9 goals at the 2022 Lisbon Tournament and was second top scorer in the whole competition. He scored his first of the day to make it 3-0 to the men from the Algarve and they were on their way to win #3.

Although Cream of the South were on debut, they featured Graham Connolly in their ranks who played for Tekkerslovakia at the 2017 tournament. He scored winning goals in the 2-1 victory over Bull Fossils B and 1-0 win over Switzerland's FC Letcom. He was on the score-sheet today but it would only be a consolation this time as he reduced the lead to 3-1.
