Round 5 began with Drop It Like It's Scott and Magnum.

Drop It Like It's Scott currently sat in fourth position on 6 points. The best 2 third placed finishers from the three groups would qualify for the Cup. Drop It Like It's Scott had to win and hope that this would secure them third and then hope 9 points would be enough. A win would not necessarily secure either as their fate was not entirely in their own hands.

Magnum knew that a draw would secure them Cup qualification. A win plus Melee FC failing to win their final game would see Magnum win Group B. Defeat could potentially see them slip to third (or even fourth) but their goal difference was so good this was incredibly unlikely.

As it turned out goal difference was not going to be a factor. Magnum secured the 3 points that could potentially see them win the group. They were 2-0 up at half-time with goals from Yves Goncalves and Issou Toure. Although Joe Lazell's third goal of the day pulled a goal back after the break, Drop It Like It's Scott still slipped to defeat. A second Issou Toure goal and a first of the tournament for Mamadou Camara meant Magnum won 4-1.

So, the last game on the field in Group B would be LMH FC versus Melee FC. What was at stake for these two teams?

For LMH FC it was still possible to make the Cup. The result above meant that a win would secure third place for them. With Group B running ahead of Groups A and C it was difficult to know if this would be enough to qualify for the Cup. Anything less would certainly mean the Plate for LMH FC.

For Melee FC, Cup qualification was already achieved. The only question for them was would they be going into the knock-out phase as Group B winners or Group B runners-up. A win would achieve the former, a draw or defeat would mean the latter.

Having stormed to 9 points out of 9, Melee FC had ‘only' drawn 3-3 with KPN Digital in the last game. They were finding LMH FC an equally difficult proposition with the teams level, 1-1, at the break. Billy Henson (LMH FC) and Jack Dell (Melee FC) were the men on target.

In the second half Melee FC went on to grab the victory with Chris Pilsbury the match-winner. It was to be the only goal of the second half as Melee FC won 2-1. The 3 points saw them win Group B by a point over Magnum. It was their third group victory having also won their group at the 2015 Lisbon Tournament and 2017 Mallorca Tournament.

To wrap up Group B we applied KPN Digital's 3-0 walkover win against Madmen. This would see KPN Digital finish in third position and qualify for the Plate competition.
