At the start of Round 3 it was walkover time again as the 11.30 Drop It Like It's Scott versus Madmen fixture was due. Drop It Like It's Scott collected their 3-0 victory which put them in third place in the league table.

It was back to the on-pitch action in Game #8 of Group B as LMH FC met KPN Digital. Both teams had chastening mornings so far. As a yardstick for performance, both teams had played Magnum. KPN Digital lost 7-0, LMH FC fared a little better and lost 6-1.

On their most recent performance at our events, LMH FC performed at the 2017 Vilnius Tournament. They were very steady in the group phase with a series of draws 0-0, 0-0 and 1-1 versus The A Team (Fra), Wealdstone Raiders (Eng) and FC United of Bob (Eng). They finished the group phase off in style with a 4-1 win over VSG United (Ltu). Third place saw them qualify for the Plate Quarter-Finals where they recorded a 2-2 draw with Red Cow Belgrade before winning 3-2 on pens. It was another draw in the Semi-Final, 1-1 with Shahs of Sunset. There was more penalty success as they reached the final. They then picked up their first eurofootballfives trophy with a 1-0 win over 3 Lions FC. Was there to be more success in Amsterdam?

It looked like it could be a struggle as they were to slip to a second successive defeat. They were level at the break here (1-1) with KPN Digital as Wouter Koeleman and Rex Worth goals cancelled each other out.

In the second half KPN Digital forged ahead with Wouter Koeleman making it 2-1. Bilal Taouil grabbed the third which meant no way back for LMH FC.

Game #9 of Group B was Melee FC versus Magnum. Although still relatively early in Group B it looked like this game would be the one to determine the Group B title. Based on history in our tournaments plus results/performances today it appeared that these were the two stand out teams in the group.

Magnum had scored a sensational 13 goals in 2 games and conceded just 1. Melee FC had 8 goals to their name and Fabio Zucchelli was yet to be beaten in the Melee FC goal.

We expected a tight and close game as a lot of these top of the table encounters prove to be. However, the game ended up a little one-side (in terms of the score at least). We saw a phenomenal effort from Melee FC that saw them sweep to a simply stunning victory. There were two goals in each half as Tom Clark scored a hat-trick. Chris Pilsbury also got in on the goal-scoring action.

It was a superb defensive masterclass too. David Teixeira had scored 26 goals in just over 2 tournaments and he was prevented from scoring. Bruno Parente with 6 goals in 2 games today was kept scoring. Fabio Zucchelli kept his tournament clean sheet intact.

This was a big statement of intent from Melee FC to all the other teams competing for the 2018 Amsterdam Fives title.
