We were now past the halfway point in Group A as we entered Round 5. We had 3rd versus 4th on Pitch A as Real De Groot entertained Pique Blinders.

Real De Groot from the Netherlands competed at the 2017 Mallorca Tournament with four teams – KML, FC De Rimmer, Mannenliefde and Het Sterretje. 3 of their teams qualified for the Plate competition whilst KML qualified for the Cup.

KML went out at the Cup Quarter-Final stage on penalties after a 2-2 draw. In the Plate competition FC De Rimmer and Het Sterretje fell at the Quarter-Final stage. Mannenliefde went all the way to the Plate Final where they drew 1-1 with FC Shark before losing on penalties.

At the moment, Real De Groot were one of 3 teams on 7 points on the cusp of Cup/Plate qualification. A win here, against another one of those teams on 7 would help their cause in making the Cup.

Obviously the same was very much true for Pique Blinders. A win would lift the victors into second place in the table. Neither team could find a successful path to goal though and they had to settle for a point each. Final score, 0-0.

Cruz Del Surely had started the day off well with 4 wins out of 4. With L'Albiceleste still to come in Round 5, Cruz Del Sur could potentially open up a 6 point gap (temporarily at least) with a victory. If they could keep their momentum going they would have one foot in the Cup competition already.

RSC Andylecht were currently 5 points behind their opponents but a win would lift them to second place and close that gap to a mere 2 points. Andylecht would be no pushovers having conceded just the 1 goal in their 4 games so far.

Cruz Del Surely were also strong at the back and hadn't conceded at all in their 4 games. It was perhaps no surprise then that two defensively strong teams fought out a 0-0 draw. For Cruz Del Surely, their 100% record was over but, of course, they remained unbeaten. The draw extending their lead at the top by a point.

For RSC Andylecht, it inched them up the table back on level terms with their closest rivals (Real De Groot & Pique Blinders) as all teams now sat on 8 points.

L'Albiceleste collected a 3-0 walkover versus Indoorsoccer. When this result was added to the table it meant they were now just 1 point behind Cruz Del Surely at the summit of Group A.

9 Nana Budds also had a walkover victory (versus Huddingpool) added to the table. It took them up to 4 points – 4 points adrift of Cup qualification with 2 rounds of fixtures to go.
