At the start of Round 2 we had 9 Nana Budds versus Real De Groot.

9 Nana Budds were making their 6th appearance in our tournaments dating back to 2009. Their travels across Europe featured an appearance here at the Algarve Open back in 2011. They did pretty well as they finished second in their 5 team group behind 2 x eurofootballfives.com winners Goldsmith Williams. A return of 2 wins and 1 draw from 4 games was a very solid effort that saw them qualify for the Cup. In the Quarter-Finals of the Cup they met Cheesecake FC (who would go on to win the eurofootballfives.com Mallorca Tournament) and left the tournament after a 3-1 defeat. Could 9 Nana Budds go further on their Portuguese return?

The English team suffered defeat in Round 1 but recovered well to lead in this one. Will Crowther had their honour of scoring their first of the tournament. Real De Groot were playing their first game of the field and so maybe had a bit more energy towards the latter stages. Casper Brouwer produced an equaliser for the Dutch.

It was honours even at full-time. Final score, 1-1.

L'Albiceleste produced 3 points from a 1-0 win in Round 1. In Round 2 they would collect 3 walkover points and a 3-0 over the absent Huddingpool.

There was still no word from Indoorsoccer so it looked like a potential delay from Lisbon would result in a no-show. It was disappointing to say the least. Cruz Del Surely picked up a 3-0 walkover win although we are sure they would have preferred to collect the three points on the pitch.

That left us with Pique Blinders versus RSC Andylecht.

Both teams were playing in their first eurofootballfives.com event. Pique Blinders had already experienced a taste of the action but had slipped to a 2-0 defeat to Cruz Del Surely. Could they respond?

RSC Andylecht were forced to wait for their debut due to the no show of Indoorsoccer. They finally had their chance to get underway and we can only apologise for the delay.

With the match underway we had two teams full of endeavour and two teams who were solid in defence. At the other end though both teams struggled to break down their opposition. In the end, defence triumphed over attack and the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Only time would tell if this was a point gained or two points dropped.
