Group C got underway with a Portugal versus England clash in the Algarve . Home side Water Boy took on Chingford Athletic Squires and it was first blood to Water Boy as Bernardino Agostinho opened his account for the day to give his team an early lead. Chingford Squires were back on level terms in the second period courtesy of a Craig Joseph strike. Joao Mendonca made it advantage Portugal again at 2-1 before Agostinho's second of the game settled matters in a 3-1 victory.

In Game 2 it was Portugal v England once again as Milton FC hosted Sporting Lesbians. Once again it was the early advantage to the Portuguese when they led 2-1 at the break thanks to goals from Jose Aguiar and Felipe Valente. Steve Lysons provided the goal for the Lesbians. Things were to get better for the English team as they turned things around in the second half when Michael Johnson scored twice but an unfortunate Andrew Oxley own goal meant the points were shared in a thrilling 3-3 draw.

The final team to get their campaign started in Group C were Your Mum's Athletic who started with a game against Chingford Squires. The Squires were hoping to put opening game defeat behind them and things were looking good as they forged a 2-0 lead by half-time thanks to an unlucky own goal by Your Mum's keeper Imran Syed and a strike from Tom Pearce. A comfortable position was less so in the second half when Dan Woods pulled a goal back and it was game on again. The Squires had enough to hold on though and claimed their first 3 points of the day.

On to Game 4 and it was a Portugal derby between Water Boy and Milton FC. Water Boy had won their first game 3-1 thanks to a combination of Agostinho, Mendonca, Agostinho. History was to repeat itself with another 3-1 win and the same order of goalscorers. The goals taking Agostinho to 4 goals in 2 games and he was an early contender for the top goalscorer award. Felipe Valente of Milton FC took his tally to 2 goals in 2 games but it was a consolation only in this game.

Sporting Lesbians and Your Mum's Athletic were two teams looking for their first win of the day when they came face-to-face in Match 5 of Group C. The game was to prove a goal fest with 6 goals in the opening period alone. The Lesbians claimed the majority as they took a 4-2 lead. Andrew Oxley scored twice, Steve Lysons netted his second in as many games and they were also aided by Your Mum's Athletic's second own goal in as many games. This time Joseph Turnbull was the unfortunate man. Turnbull did also score at the correct end, as did Dan Woods, to keep his team in striking distance of their opponents. Peter Andrews halved the deficit when he made it 4-3 but they could not pull the game back level and another 2nd half comeback for Your Mum's Athletic fell just short. Sporting Lesbians won 4-3.
