The Cup Quarter-Finals saw the elite 8 teams of the 20 team draw come head to head to see which team would emerge as 2011 Valencia Fives champions. We had 4 nations still with a chance of grabbing glory so would it be Bulgaria, England, Hungary or Spain celebrating at 5pm this evening?

The first Quarter-Final saw the Hungarian team, Csabagyogye, take on Spain's Rollert FS. Csabagyongye were in their 2 nd eurofootballfives.com tournament and had a record of 7 wins, 2 draws and 0 defeats to date. Thus far, their only exit had been via penalties and with a 100% win record in Valencia they were considered favourites for this game.

Rollert FS had different ideas though and were on a good run themselves. They lost in their opening fixture but since then had won 3 games in a row….make that 4. They hit their opponents hard in the first half and quickly established a 4-1 lead. It was a sensational performance from the Spanish. In the second half they were not quite as dominant as Csabagyongye fought back but the first half lead was sufficient for Rollert FS to go through 6-3.

Rollert FS scored through Henry, Harry, Alex and Edwin. There was even a hat-trick for Csabagyongye's Gergo Koczka and it is not often you score a hat-trick and end up on the losing side….he did today. We look forward to Csabagyongye's next eurofootballfives.com adventure.

Cup Quarter-Final 2 saw Skidmarks in action against Shortest In The Shower. Skidmarks had been the outstanding team in the morning group phase with 4 wins and a staggering 21 goals. How would they fare in this one?

They were up against a team in Shortest In The Shower who were unbeaten themselves with two wins and two draws. One of those unbeaten records would go in this match and the way it started Skidmarks were determined it was not going to be them.

As per Rollert FS in the first Quarter-Final, Skidmarks flew out the blocks as Luke Hatfield scored two quick goals to put his team in the ascendancy. Gary Hatfield and Ted Cowan made it 4-0 and it wasn't yet half-time. The tie was essentially won in the opening period as Shortest In The Shower didn't know what hit them.

In the second half the goal scoring calmed down a little but there was still time for Iain Congdon to make it 5-0 to Skidmarks. Shortest In The Shower were out but Skidmarks marched on!

On Pitch C we had the mouthwatering Quarter-Final of Lozenetz City and Wandsworth Athletic to look forward to. The Group B winners were taking on the team who since opening game defeat had gone 3 games unbeaten to earn their tie against the Bulgarians.

With two eurofootballfives.com titles, two further finals and four group wins today Lozenetz City would rightly be considered favourites but they were made to work very very hard for their win. Wandsworth Athletic struck the opening blow as Zaid Shoubber scored early. Lozenetz City grew into the game and were on level terms when captain Alex Kyulev made it 1-1.

Lozenetz City then forged ahead through Bojhidar Gorchev and with a 2-1 lead they seemed to relax into the game. A second strike from Gorchev made it 3-1 and it was effectively game over. Wandsworth Athletic had put in a fantastic effort and pushed their illustrious opponents all the way. We are sure there is more to come from them in European competition.

Who would meet Lozenetz City in the second Semi-Final? It would be Atiko Team versus Los de Casa in an all-Spanish encounter.

Atiko Team had performed well in Group D to take the group title with 3 wins and a draw. Last year's winners Los de Casa had been less impressive than in 2010 but had done enough to reach the Quarter-Finals. At the knock-out stage all that was history and it was just one game at a time.

Los de Casa seemed to raise their game for this fixture and quickly forged a 2-0 lead with goals from Cristian and Joan. There was no way back for Atiko Team in the second period as, although Alejandro scored for them, Los de Casa scored four more of their own to round off an emphatic 6-1 victory.
