Group D got underway with home team Futbol City playing Los Halcones. Under the name of Hawks at the 2009 Barca Fives they missed out on the Cup through goal-difference in the group of death. With two wins out of three it was defending champions Rapid Bosco Navas and then current Prague Masters champions Lozenetz City who progressed at their expense. They performed well in the Plate and narrowly missed out on the Plate Trophy losing 2-1 in the final to Spanish team Equipo A.

Los Halcones were dealt a tough opening fixture in this Group when they came up against a quality Futbol City team. The Spanish team edged a tight game 2-1. Yaser El Borgi the goalscorer for the travelling team.

Galacticos also played in the 2009 Barca Fives and won Group A. In the Cup knock-out stage they defeated defending champions Rapid Bosco Navas in the Quarter-Finals before going out to two-times eurofootballfives.com winners Goldsmith Williams in the Semi-Finals. They started off their 2010 Valencia Fives challenge against Spanish team Los Gorriones. Fazil Boodi was the Galacticos hero as his two goals secured a 2-0 victory.

The final team to begin their 2010 Valencia Fives campaign was Warranty Direct. Warranty Direct have also played in Barcelona at this year's 2010 Barcelona Fives where they took glory in the Plate competition. They had a tough opening encounter against Futbol City who had already defeated Los Halcones.

Futbol City seemed to have warmed up nicely in that fixture as they hit Warranty Direct for six. It was a tough start to the tournament for Warranty Direct as they came across an in form team. Tomas Ormeno Lopez was the main architect of the win scoring four of his sides goals. Mark Shatliff and Badrul Alam scored consolation goals for the English team. Final score, 6-2.

Los Halcones and Los Gorriones both suffered opening round defeats and, although early, found themselves needing victory to keep pace with the teams at the top of Group D. The game proved very tight and the teams looked evenly matched.

In the end there was to be just one goal in the game to split the two teams. When the goal came it came from the team in pink, Los Gorriones, to earn the Spanish team their first three points of the tournament. They moved into third place in the table and were upwardly mobile. It was tough for Los Halcones to suffer such narrow defeats.

On the evidence of the opening fixtures Galacticos must have been looking forward to making it two wins from two and joining Futbol City on the top of Group D. Warranty Direct were hoping to shrug off their opening defeat and start their challenge again as there was still time to get their Valencia Fives challenge on track.

Mohammed Attiq Akhtar opened the scoring in this game to give his side a 1-0 lead. Yaaseen Patel made it 2-0 before Fazil Boodi's third goal of the tournament made it 3-0. Galacticos were in no mood to go easy on their opponents and sniffed blood. Marcus Foley made it 4-0 before Asif Shaikh rounded off a fine performance and complete the 5-0 victory. The margin of victory put Galacticos top of the Group D tree.
