There were now just four teams left with a chance of claiming the 2010 Valencia Fives title. Samurai Japan , Galacticos, FC Radbroke and Futbol City were the teams still battling it out. It would take a brave man to pick the winner.

Samurai Japan were many people's picks for the title as they had won four of their five games, drawing the other scoring 14 goals and crucially conceding just one goal to date. In a tournament where the goals had been flying in that defensive quality may well be a deciding factor. Galacticos also had a fine defensive record keeping 3 clean sheets in their 5 games to date.

It was Galacticos whose defence came up trumps in this match. In a really close first half there was just one moment of brilliance that separated the two teams as Yaseen Patel found a deft flick with the outside of his left boot to give Galacticos a crucial lead. The rest of the game saw Samurai Japan search for the equalizer.

It sometimes looked like defence versus attack as Galacticos soaked up the pressure and looked to hit Samurai Japan on the counter attack. Shah Pathan in goal for Galacticos and his defence coped pretty well with everything that was thrown at them. Galacticos then made it 2-0 late on through Fazil Boodi and with Japanese spirits broken Yaseen Patel scored his second to round off a 3-0 victory.

It was a solid victory for Galacticos and whilst 3-0 was probably harsh on Samurai Japan there was no doubt that Galacticos had the game plan that deservedly saw them through to the final.

We would see Galacticos in action for one more game but for Samurai Japan we will have to wait until next season when hopefully they will join us on tour again.

The second semi-final saw Futbol City and FC Radbroke meet for a chance to play Galacticos in the 2010 Valencia Fives Final. FC Radbroke were entering unchartered territory and making their first eurofootballfives.com semi-final having gone out to Bulgarians Lozenetz City in the 2009 Barca Fives quarter-finals. Their task could not be more difficult against unbeaten Futbol City .

Futbol City were not only unbeaten but still had a 100% record with 5 wins from 5. Three of those wins had just been by the odd goal showing they had a lot of steel and character as well as skill. This game would prove to be another close contest for them and another one they would come through.

There were only three goalscorers in this game but each of them bagged two goals. Mike Brandon kept his fine goalscoring run going but sadly for FC Radbroke their opponents had two goalscorers – Tomas Ormeno Lopez and Joao Fernandes Texeira. The result was a 4-2 victory for the home team.

Having gone out in the quarter-finals in Barcelona , the semi-finals here in Valencia maybe a first final is due for FC Radbroke in their next tournament.

Futbol City though – they were off to the final.
