Game 6 of Group A was to be the battle royale as the top two teams came face to face to battle for supremacy. Both teams had the maximum 6 points and an identical goal difference so picking a winner would be difficult. Once the game started the match proved to be as close as we predicted.

Neither team could find a way through their opposition with both defences on top and both goalkeepers claimed their second clean sheet of the day. At the end of the contest honours were even at 0-0. The point put both teams on 7 points and we were still no closer to knowing who would turn out to be Group A winners.

With two defeats in a row Atlantic Star and the above result Atlantic Star knew their hopes of the Cup were over but they still had a chance to make the Plate competition and a win in this game would be just what the doctor ordered. They came up against an in-form Karma FC who entered the game full of confidence on the back of a 4-0 win.

Group A had thus far proven to be extremely close with the teams fairly evenly matched. Atlantic Star had yet to score in the 2010 Valencia Fives but that stat was to end in this match as Paul Coram scored for the team from Manchester as they edged the first half 1-0. In the second half they were to extend that lead to 2-0 thanks to Daniel Ellis and with that their first victory was safely in the bag. They joined Karma FC on 3 points and both teams looked good for the Plate. The defeat for Karma FC meant they were unable to make the Cup as they now lay 4 points behind Samurai Japan and Plantaciones Inside with just one match to go.

AON Top Guns went into their 3 rd game knowing that they needed a win to join Karma FC and Atlantic Star on 3 points and to keep their Plate chances alive. Their task would not be easy against an unbeaten Plantaciones Inside team. The Spanish team were unbeaten in three matches and continued their form in this fixture. Plantaciones Inside scored twice in the opening period through Hector Hernandez Rosa and Miguel Gomez Santos De Lima to set-up a solid 2-0 half-time lead.

In the second half AON Top Guns did hit back and found the net through John O Brien and Laurence Smith. The goals would not be enough to earn them any points as they ran into a prolific Santos De Lima who scored a second half hat-trick to take his tally in the game to 4 and his tally in the tournament to 6. Plantaciones Inside secured the 5-2 victory and now sat on top of Group A. The challenge had been lay down to Samurai Japan.

Samurai Japan went into their final game needing to win by 4 goals to take the Group A title. They met Karma FC who needed a point to guarantee their progression to the Plate.

The game went with the form book and the Japanese led 2-0 at half-time and went on to increase that lead by the end of the match to 5-0. The goals were shared around with Kenya Matsumoto and Gaku Sato each scoring twice to add to Naohiro Watanabe's first goal of the day.

The win meant that Samurai Japan leapfrogged Plantaciones Inside into first place and to claim the Group A title. Amazingly they had just conceded one goal so far in their 4 games and would be a team to look out for in the Cup draw. Karma FC were also likely to make the Plate with their two challengers AON Top Guns and Atlantic Star taking on each other in the final game of this group.

The final match of Group A saw two teams trying to avoid the Wooden Spoon and make the Plate competition. The onus was very much on AON Top Guns to make the running as they needed to win by 5 goals to swing goal difference into their favour and move into 4th place knocking Atlantic Star down into 5th. Atlantic Star just had to avoid defeat by this scoreline to make the Plate but knew that a narrow defeat, draw or win would give them 3rd place.

AON Top Guns scored in the opening period for the first time this tournament and forged a 2-1 lead. Leon Barber with two goals had outgunned Daniel Ellis to give his team this lead although it would not be enough. Barber went on to complete his hat-trick after the break with Laurence Smith adding his second of the tournament. Atlantic Star kept in the hunt thanks to goals from Paul Coram and James Allen. At 4-3 to AON Top Guns the referee blew the final whistle. The three points for AON Top Guns meant that both teams plus Karma FC all finished level on 3 points with only goal difference to split them. Due to the withdrawals in Group B it actually meant all three teams qualified for the Plate as AON Top Guns, although 5 th in this group, had the best record of all the teams in 5th place and were promoted from the Wooden Spoon to the Plate competition.
