After
35 games of hard graft, grit and determination,
thrills and spills the 36 th and final game of
the 2009 Prague Trophy would see Dogshead FC take
on 3 times eurofootballfives.com finalists, Kehar
Club.
Dogshead
FC would be favourites on the balance of
the day's play thus far but the 2007 Prague Masters
champions and 2008 Prague Trophy Runners-Up could
not be under-estimated as Atlantic Star would
testify to after their semi-final exit.
Dogshead
FC were favourites 2 years ago when they came
a cropper in the 2007 Prague Trophy Cup quarter-final
due to a golden goal which was curiously the same
way Kehar Club came
unstuck in last year's final. There may well have
been a preference to get this game done and dusted
in normal time and both teams came out the blocks
fast but Dogshead FC the fastest. In the opening
couple of minutes Daniel House put his side 1-0
up with his eighth of the tournament. It didn't
take long for goal number nine and number ten
to follow as Daniel House completed his second
hat-trick in as many games before the half-time
whistle.
With
the score 3-0 at half-time the destination of
the Cup Trophy was decided barring miracles really.
Kehar Club fought to the end to keep the scoreline
respectable as Dogshead FC played out time and
counted the minutes away until they could lift
their arms in celebration at the full-time whistle.
When
that whistle came they had completed their day's
task, come to Prague and take home the silverware.
Daniel House would also have some silverware of
his own as he picked up the top goalscorer award
with a fantastic return of 10 goals – a fine individual
performance amidst a great team effort.
Our
congratulations also go to Rigford Seahawks in
the Plate competion. We would like to take this
opportunity to thank all our teams who participated
in what was a great day's competition. It was
a pleasure to host you all and great to share
a few beers at our post-tournament drinks in the
evening.
We
hope to see you all again at a tournament very
soon. |
