Round
3 of fixtures treated us to the mouth-watering
prospect of El Studs versus
DHL Prague Red
– a top of the table clash that put two 100% records
head to head. El Studs were certainly consistent
in this competition as they opened up a 3-1 half
time lead for the third consecutive game in a
row. A double from Liam Kelly and a second strike
in as many games from Johnny Catchpole were the
architects of their advantage this time round.
Will McCollum also scored for the second game
in a row for DHL Prague Red but it would not be
enough to earn them any points in a scoreless
second half. El Studs had now opened up a three
point gap at the top of Group A with a maximum
9 points.
After
a battling opening game, Harp
Chancers found themselves going into game
3 on the back of a heavy defeat to El
Studs. This must have been demoralizing
as Kehar Club kicked them whilst they were down
to the tune of 7-2. Kehar Club had well and truly
put their opening game defeat behind them with
two consecutive wins lifting them to second in
the Group A table. In this match they found themselves
3-0 to the good at the break and whilst Harp Chancers
pulled goals back from Vinny Ivanov and Lukas
Vrba they never threatened to overturn their opponents
who found the net on four more occasions with
Predikant, Kyndiy and Pecek amongst their goalscorers.
Bure
Park Old Boys met JNJ
Global Services looking to secure their
first positive result of the tournament and they
started well and there was nothing much between
these two teams in the opening period. Two first
half goals were evenly shared as David Tyrell
scored for the English team and Petr Jelinek for
the Czech team. At 1-1 it was all to play for
until Vincent Solem scored the games vital third
goal to give JNJ the lead. After that a second
goal from Petr Jelinek and Jakub Salatek strengthened
the Czech teams's position and a 4-1 win saw them
move into joint second with Kehar Club and DHL
Prague Red. Bure Park Old Boys remained in 5 th
position.
