Round 2 of Group A began with It's Back taking on GBS Reds. It's Back had been dealt a tough fixture list to start their 2011 Prague Masters campaign but they had reached half-time on level terms at 0-0 again. It was to be second half disappointment though for the second successive game as they slipped to another defeat.

Wilco Veldhuizen put GBS Reds 1-0 up in the second half before Ian Smitton doubled the advantage to make it 2-0. 2-0 was how it finished and it consolidated GBS Reds position at the top of Group A as they had made a very healthy start to their latest eurofootballfives.com campaign.

It's Back still had three group games remaining to kickstart their tournament challenge.

In the next game Deportivo were looking to emulate GBS Reds by making it two wins out of two. In their way stood FC Dad who had made a solid start by picking up a point in their opening fixture.

With the game underway it was Deportivo who struck the opening blow when Jose Barrantes found the net. Deportivo, the Czech team comprising of South American imports, doubled their advantage in the second period with a Jorge Barrero strike to all but put the game beyond the reach of FC Dad. The English team were unable to get back into it and Deportivo had indeed made it two wins out of two. They joined GBS Reds at the top and sat 2nd on goal difference.

For FC Dad there was no shame in losing to such esteemed opposition but the result left them in 5th place but plenty of time left to climb up the Group A table.

Game 6 of Group A saw AC Lesk of England take on Team Also-Ran of Ireland. Team Also-Ran were looking to bounce back from a heavy opening game defeat whereas AC Lesk were looking to build on a draw which gave them a solid platform going into the game. A win for either side would see them end Round 2 in 3 rd place.

We were privileged to witness three first half goals with Team Also-Ran edging it 2-1 thanks to Shane Murphy and Barry O'Mahoney. A Tom Hook strike kept AC Lesk in the hunt for further points. The second half saw more goals but the goals were shared equally meaning the Irish team ran out 3-2 victors as Murphy grabbed his second of the game. An own goal kept AC Lesk in touching distance right up to the final whistle but alas, for them, they were unable to find the desired equaliser as they slipped to their first defeat.

It was a first win of the day for Team Also-Ran who claimed 3rd position.
