Veterans

With teams representing England, France, Poland and Portugal assembled in Porto we had 4 nations in with a chance of success. JK Silvertown won the Plate competition at the 2023 Barcelona Fives, 12 months on they were surging to victory in Porto with a 100% record of 7 wins out of 7. They had the best defence with just 3 conceded, the top two goalscorers and the best goal difference. They were worthy winners.

Lucanos Locos pushed them all the way and finished just 3 points behind. The 2-1 defeat when the two teams met head-to-head was ultimately the deciding factor as the Polish team won 6 of their 7 games.

Super Veterans

Porto 2024 saw our first ever Super Veterans tournament with so many familiar faces involved. Polonia Limerick had won our Open Age tournament just an hour or so before and were looking for a historic double. It all came down to the final match where Polonia Limerick needed to win to beat Peebles All Stars of Scotland to the title by a single point. A Bart Baranski goal meant a 1-0 win over Bure Park Old Boys as Polonia Limerick claimed the title with a great performance from Peebles All Stars to finish in second.
