We
went into Game 8 of Group B with Bure Park Seniors
due to meet Pork Vale. Bure Park were our most
experienced team in the tournament draw as they
were making their 13 th appearance in our events.
They were up against the newest addition to
the ranks in the form of Pork Vale. The Bure
Park Seniors squad had suffered two narrow defeats
so far today (both 1-0) and were in need of
turning good performances into points on the
board.
Pork
Vale had played just the one game so far which
was a 3-1 defeat to a good Polonia Limerick
team. They took a first half lead in that game
but were pegged back before the break. Here
against Bure Park Seniors they forged ahead
again with Andy Cross the man on target. This
time they retained their lead at half-time.
However, they were unable to keep that lead
until full-time. Simon Dearing was the man for
Bure Park Seniors who helped them avoid another
narrow 1-0 defeat. Dearing's goal levelled the
match at 1-1 which proved to be the final result.
It was a first point on the board for both teams.
