12.40 was crunch time in Group A as the last round of fixtures kicked off. Mathematically it was two from three to make the Cup with two of these teams meeting directly in the form of Creative Support versus Bull Heads. Creative Support had to win and win by at least two goals to go through on goals scored or even goal difference if they won by a larger margin. This was not going to be easy against a Bull Heads team who had conceded just one goal so far. The task got even more difficult when Neil Bennett gave Bull Heads the lead. From there, the Bull Heads went from strength to strength as they eventually won 4-0. Neil Bennett went on to complete a hat-trick and Nicky Walsh also got on the goal trail. We now knew Creative Support would be in the Plate and Bull Heads in the Cup. We'd have to see other results for their exact placings though.

Basford United were prime candidates for the Group A title with a very healthy goal difference and a win here would virtually assure them of the league win. They came up against Wife Can't Wrestle who were already assured of a place in the Plate but a win would be great for confidence and help them move into 3rd place which should, in theory, mean an easier semi-final. Basford United played like Group winners and ensured they finished on top with a 4-0 victory. The game saw a 2nd tournament hat-trick for James Needham and PJ Shiggins netted again to increase his personal tally.

The last game of Group A saw Atlantic Star 1 st meet Wafty Crankers. The game was a dead rubber in the sense that neither team could qualify from the group but pride and avoiding finishing bottom of the table was at stake. Wafty Crankers had the advantage going into the game knowing only a draw was needed to secure 5th place. Atlantic Star 1 st would be hoping to avenge their unfortunate record of losing each game by the odd goal. History looked to be repeating itself yet again as two Neil Fraser goals gave them a 2-1 lead (Kurt Greenhalgh with the goal for Atlantic Star). Atlantic Star were able to put their unwanted record to bed though as Dave O'Brien grabbed the equaliser in what Atlantic Star head honcho Clarke Woollam described as goal of the tournament. The game ended 2-2, Atlantic Star had their first point but it was Wafty Crankers who had 5th place.
