Into the 2nd round of games in Group A and Wafty Crankers were looking to bounce back from opening defeat as they took on Creative Support. Creative Support benefited from a 3-0 walkover win previously but this time played gloriously on the pitch to open up a 3-0 lead. The goals from Errol Williams, Joel Goonan and Scott Miles had put their team well on their way to 6 points. The tables suddenly turned and when Mike Phillips and James Rowlands scored two each the Wafty Crankers had fought back to lead 4-3. They must have thought the comeback was complete until Scott Miles second goal of the game levelled the score at 4-4. A great game and a well earned point for each team.

 
 
 

Wife Can't Wrestle had now arrived at the ground and were preparing to put the disappointment of Round 1 behind them. They came up against Atlantic Star 1st who were also looking for their first point. The teams were looking evenly matched and it was the Irish who drew first blood taking the lead through Paul Loughlin. As the game progressed with no addition to the scoreline Atlantic Star 1st pushed forward with attack after attack. The Wife Can't Wrestle defence held firm though and clung on to a valuable victory.

 
 
 

Game 6 of Group A saw two teams with wins under their belt came face-to-face. Bull Heads had proven pedigree in our tournaments but Basford United, whilst early in their eurofootballfives careers, were looking like they could be equally successful. The game was a tough, full-blooded encounter which saw neither team give an inch and whilst tense and competitive, goal-scoring opportunities were at a premium. In the end it was perhaps no surprise we finished 0-0 and each team would be reasonably content with a draw. The result meant both teams joined Creative Support on top of Group A for a three-way tie on 4 points.
