The
22nd September saw our 11th Open Age tournament
in Mallorca and our 3rd Veterans tournament. We
had a great day of action in both the younger
and more mature sections of the draw.
In
the Open Age section we had success for Bar Maruru.
It was their second appearance of the year having
reached the Cup Semi-Final in May this year. They
made no mistake in September as they were superb
from start to finish winning 7 and drawing 1 of
their 8 games. They defeated Ecuador 100 in the
Cup Final. In the Plate section there was victory
for Fiorentina Turner 2 who defeated 3 Lions FC
in the Plate Final. It was 3 Lion FC's fourth
final defeat in our events.
In
the Veterans section there was victory for Policia
Local de Palma. It was their second eurofootballfives.com
title after they lifted the inaugural Mallorca
Tournament back in 2011. They defeated Bure Park
in the Cup Final. Bure Park Old Boys were appearing
in their 10th tournament and they reached the
Cup Final and the Plate Final. Sadly for them,
they were runners-up in both. Our Plate winners
were Legends of the Vale who took the trophy from
Mallorca back to Bournemouth - where they posed
on the steps of their Ryanair flight home. Sensational!
