We began Round 4 with Bar Maruru versus Yac Club.

What a match we had in prospect here. Bar Maruru's group record in our tournaments read 7 wins and 1 draw with 26 goals scored and just 4 conceded. They came into this fixture on the back of 6-1 and 5-0 wins.

Yac Club's form had been up and down so far. A narrow 1-0 loss, a heavy 6-0 defeat before a sensational 2-0 win over Urbansport. Which Yac Club would turn up here and would that 2-0 win act as a catalyst for bigger and better things to come. If they could pick up a second win here it would really be something to behold.

As it turned out they put in a great performance and kept Bar Maruru in check for most of the game. They couldn't quite eek out a result though. The Bar Maruru defence held firm in the face of the Yac Club attack. At the other end a Fran Medina Garcia goal proved to be the difference. His second strike of the tournament ensured it was 3 wins in a row for the Spanish team.

In Game 11 of Group A we had Purnell Youth 2 versus Urbansport.

Urbansport (Spa) made 2 appearances in 2017 at our Mallorca Fives and our Mallorca Tournament. In the space of a month they were successful at both. In May, they won the Cup Final (playing as Valecuatro). In June, they won the Plate Final (playing as Inter Balear).

In the group phase in the May tournament they finished 2 nd of 6 teams on 9 points to qualify for the Cup. They produced a sensational win in the Quarter-Finals knocking out the defending champions Mariano FC on penalties. They went from strength to strength defeating FC Broxelona A (Eng) 5-1 in the Semi Finals and Forn de N'aina (Arg) 3-0 in the Final.

In June, they could only produce 7 points from their 5 group games that saw their title defence end earlier than expected. They went through the gears in the knock-out phase as they recorded 2-0, 6-2 and 6-4 wins. Expect some goals in these games!

They had already played at the 2018 Mallorca Fives in May with two teams as Inter Balear and Urbansport. Urbansport struggled with just 1 point from their 5 games as they were eliminated. Inter Balear won 4 of their 5 group games to win their group but went out in the Semis.

Today they had concentrated their skills into 1 team. 4 points from 6 before defeat in the last game. Purnell Youth 1 were to pile on the pressure on the Spanish. The English team ran riot here.

Charlie Gwyther opened the scoring before a Tom Cook double put them in control at 3-0. It got even better when Ross Horman made it 4-0. Urbansport responded through Domingo before Jay Thomas re-asserted the lead to 5-1. Diego made it 5-2 but Purnell Youth would have the final say – a Tom Cook hat-trick goal for 6-2.

The next game on Campo A was Burritos A versus Fiorentina Turner 2. At the start of the Round the teams were in second and third position. Results in Round 4 meant the teams were still in second and third at kick-off. With Bar Maruru striding on ahead at the top it seemed these two teams were playing for second position. A win here for either team would go a long way to securing that.

Fiorentina Turner made a promising debut at the 2017 Barcelona Fives. The ‘2' team was very good in the group phase with 5 wins in 7 games. Their haul of 15 points was enough to finish second in Group C and qualify for the elite Cup competition. They left us at the Quarter-Final stage following a 2-0 defeat to Danish Dynamites. Fiorentina Turner will be a team to watch in this year's tournament.

They moved ahead in this fixture with Alex Villers scoring his second of the tournament. Burritos were not to be beaten though as they hit back through Matthew Lee – his third goal in four games.

It was honours even for the two teams and they finished Round 4 as they started it – in second and third positions.
