PVDC
Eindhoven came into Round 2 on the back of a fine
3-0 win. Ecuador 100 were looking to build upon
what looked to be a decent 2-2 draw.
As
briefly touched upon in Round 1, Ecuador 100 were
making their seventh appearance at the Mallorca
Tournament. They had a tough introduction at the
2012 Mallorca Tournament as they were drawn in
a group with 2 previous eurofootballfives.com
winners (2 x winners Inter Women and 4 x winners
Olympic Phil Babb). They finished 4th in their
6 team group to qualify for the Plate Quarter-Finals
where they exited 4-2 at the hands of Whiteley
Stags.
In
the Mallorca Fives of May 2013 they also finished
4th in a group that contained 2 previous eurofootballfives.com
winners (Skidmarks and Policia Mallorca) and went
on to the Plate competition – which they won!
They followed this up at the Mallorca Tournament
of June 2013 by finishing 3 rd in their 6-team
group. They qualified for the Plate again and
won their Quarter-Final 4-2 against Whiteley Bad
Boys before a 2-1 Semi-Final defeat to Have Ago
Heroes.
2014
saw another 4th -placed finish in the group before
a 3-1 Plate Quarter-Final defeat to Brioche. 2015
was their most successful tournament to date as
they won Group A with 13 points from a possible
15. They then exited at the Quarter-Final stage,
2-1, at the hands of Policia Local.
At
the 2017 Mallorca Tournament last June they recorded
3 wins and 2 defeats to finish second in Group
B. They drew 1-1 with Melee FC in the Quarters
before winning 2-1 on penalties. This was the
furthest they'd progressed in the tournament but
they were not done yet as they defeated Mallorca
Look, 2-0, in the Semi-Finals. They couldn't quite
go all the way as they lost in the Cup Final to
Wilmslow Whoppers.
They
then appeared at the 2018 Mallorca Fives in May
as Algaiga Golf. They finished third in Group
B with 2 wins and 2 draws from their 5 games.
In the Plate Semi-Finals they won 4-3 (v Jackson's
Five) before securing a 4-1 win in the Cup Final
(v Multiple Scorgasms).
In
Round 2 here, just the one goal settled the game.
It went to Ecuador 100 and Alfredo was the match-winner.
