The penultimate round of fixtures would see Slavoj Consumer and Maidenhead 1 meet on Pitch A. The teams were currently in 3rd and 4th position and a win in this game would put them odds on favourites to qualify for the Cup. A draw or defeat would not end their chances but leave them vulnerable to the teams chasing behind. For Slavoj Consumer the situation was more urgent as this would be their final game. Maidenhead 1 had the insurance of a game in hand in Round 7.

Throughout the day Slavoj Consumer responded well to defeat but responded badly to victory. They lost their opener, bounced back with a win. Lost their next and responded with a second victory. In their previous game they lost again so were due another win in this one. Could Maidenhead 1 stop that sequence of results?

It didn't look likely at half-time as Slavoj Consumer had forged a 2-0 lead through Adam Richter and Tomas Klusacek. Maidenhead 1 had remained unbeaten in their first 3 fixtures but had lost to Synthes UK 1 in their last game. They were facing a second successive defeat here but responded well after the break as they reduced the deficit to 2-1 with Alvaro Martinez claiming the goal. Ultimately time ran out for Maidenhead 1 as Slavoj Consumer saw the game out to pick up all 3 points.

Slavoj Consumer's haul of 9 points would almost certainly see them through to the Cup. As the results from Pitch B and Pitch C came in – this would be confirmed. Well done to them.

Next up was a crucial game at the foot of the table of Group B as we had the teams currently occupying 6th and 7th coming face to face. Beeston Operation Leeds had just picked up their first three points of the day and if they could make that 2 out of 2 they still had a chance of making the Cup. Anything less and you would feel that the Plate was the most likely destination for their knock-out football.

For Janssen Portugal, Cup qualification was beyond them as they had two games left and the team currently occupying 4th were on 7 points. However, all was not lost. If they could win their last couple of games they would go into the Plate with momentum and if they could finish 5 th would earn a bye to the Semi-Finals and avoid a tricky Quarter-Final tie.

Beeston Operation Leeds would have come into the game on a high after a good 3-1 win over JNJ Pinewood but they would no doubt have left the field disappointed having slipped to a 1-0 defeat in this match. It meant they would fall below their opponents on goal difference.

For Janssen Portugal it could be said this win was overdue after some narrow defeats. Mateus Vargas was the goal-scoring hero and his strike earned his team their first win of the day. The team sang and celebrated as if they had won the tournament. The beers and their spirits were flowing.

The final fixtures in Round 6 was the big one – JNJ Middle East versus Synthes UK 1. These teams were the top two in Group B and the result of this one would go a long way to deciding the Group B winners. JNJ Middle East were currently in the box seat on 12 points so a win would guarantee them the group win. A draw would put them in pole position going into Round 7 but defeat would see Synthes UK 1 seize that initiative. Both teams had already qualified for the Cup so it was winning the group that was now at stake. This was not just for the honour of topping the table but also to secure an easier passage through the knock-out phase.

JNJ Middle East were perhaps a surprise package given 2 x Plate finishes in previous seasons. There was no surprise for Synthes UK 1 who had won their group on both their previous appearances. The English team started slowly with a draw but had since moved through the gears with 3 successive wins.

In recent games it was the finishing prowess of Adam Love that had given Synthes UK 1 success. He bagged a brace in each of the last two games and he was back amongst the goals in this one. He scored two more in the first half. These were the first goals Amein Abbas had conceded all day for JNJ Middle East.

There was no further score in the second half and it was advantage Synthes UK 1 at the summit of Group B.
