The Group A table was beginning to take shape but with 6 games each in the group stage there was still time for teams to make a move but it would need to happen now. The top four qualified for the Cup so it kept everyone interested.

The Rodallega Bombs could make a big step towards qualification with a win in this one and open up a 6 point gap on the team in fifth. Synthes UK 2 could still make it but would need to claim a maximum 9 points from here. It would take a big reversal of fortune for them but one that looked possible when they stunned their opponents to go 2-1 up at half-time.

Goals from James Dunstan and David Jobe gave them the lead but a Byron Kinder goal meant all was not lost for The Rodallega Bombs. For periods in the second half it looked as if Synthes UK 2 would get that first win of the day and The Rodallege Bombs looked nervous. The Rodallega Bombs did manage to equalise through George Lazaro but were unable to find a winner as we finished level ar 2-2.

Only time would tell if this was a point gained or two points dropped. Given the form book today you would think this felt like 2 points dropped for The Rodallega Bombs. It was a great performance and good result for Synthes UK 2 who registered their first goals of the day and their first point on the board.

Next up was JNJ High Wycombe versus GBS Reds. The draw for The Rodallega Bombs opened the door up a little for these two teams. A win for GBS Reds would see them just a point off 4th position. For JNJ High Wycombe a win would put them 3 points off qualification but a loss here would surely end their qualification hopes.

Over previous seasons the record between the seasons has been:

Prague 2012: GBS Reds A 0-2 JNJ High Wycombe

Budapest 2013: JNJ High Wycombe A 2-1 GBS Reds.

Bratislava 2014: JNJ High Wycombe B 1-2 GBS Reds.

Prague 2015: JNJ High Wycombe B 3-0 GBS Reds.

It was advantage JNJ High Wycombe in the history of this fixture and it was to be advantage JNJ High Wycombe in the first half here. Emmanuel Aisabokhae opened the scoring before Alex Parkinson scored another for 2-0 at half-time. Alex Parkinson scored again in the second half to take his total for the day to 6. It meant he had surpassed his previous best return of 5 goals at the 2014 Bratislava tournament.

Harris Vignozzi's second goal of the day spoilt Will Frempng's clean sheet in the JNJ High Wycombe goal but that would matter not as JNJ High Wycombe claimed their first three points of the day.

The final thing to wrap up Round 5 of Group A was the big one – JNJ Medical Russia versus JNJ Poland. A win for either team would seal their Cup qualification place whilst a draw would mean, effectively, both teams would progress. However, there was still much at stake – the Group A victory and the higher up the table they could finish the easier their Cup Quarter-Final game would be (in theory at least).

Both teams had a 100% record with 3 wins from 3 games. Both teams had a +9 goal difference but JNJ Poland lead the way as they had scored (and conceded) one more than their opponents.

With the game underway it was JNJ Medical Russia who made the vital breakthrough in the first half. Andrey Sheremetyev scored to give his countrymen a valuable lead. It was a lead they would hold until half-time and for most of the second half.

As the clock was counting down towards full time it looked like JNJ Medical Russia would claim a 1-0 win but JNJ Poland had other ideas. They scored a late equaliser through Jacek Banas to make it 1-1.

Both teams would lose their 100% record but both teams were very well placed to go far in this tournament.
