The final team to get underway in Group B and, in fact, the tournament as a whole was Janssen Portugal. They had waited patiently for their chance to get involved in the action and were now due to take the field against Synthes UK 1.

Janssen Portugal were making their JNJ Euro Soccer Tournament debut and we would get our first glimpse of them on Pitch A. They had a daunting opening fixture ahead of them against Synthes UK 1. The English team had reached at least the Cup Semi-Finals on their previous adventures but had been held to a point in their first game today.

Sythes UK 1 looked to be back on the winning trail again when Liam Robinson put them 1-0 up. Rodrigo Martins hit back for Janssen Portugal to make it 1-1 but it was not long before Robinson scored again to restore Synthes UK 1's lead. It was 2-1 at half-time.

Synthes UK 1 were pegged back again in the second half and again it was Rodrigo Martins who scored the goal. We were level at 2-2 but the game would not finish at 2-2. Nico Chercasky scored his first European goal for Synthes UK 1 and it proved to be the winner.

It was a positive start for Janssen Portugal against such illustrious opposition despite defeat and bode well for the rest of the tournament.

We continued Round 2 with Beeston Operation Leeds versus Slavoj Consumer. Both of these teams had slipped to opening game defeat and both were looking to bounce back quickly with a victory to kick-start their tournament challenge.

Slavoj Consumer had won their group in last year's tournament but had started slowly in their opening fixture this year. They seemed to return to form in Round 2. Maybe they were stung by opening game defeat as they raced into a 3-0 lead in this fixture.

Michal Dudon scored their first goal of the 2016 campaign before Lukas Pokorny and Tomas Klusacek weighed in to make the game effectively safe by half-time. Beeston Operation Leeds tightened up in the second half but they were unable to make inroads at the other end as Jan Bartos kept a clean sheet for Slavoj Consumer. Final score, 3-0.

The game that would complete Round 2 was JNJ Pinewood against Maidenhead 1. Both teams had made impressive starts to the day with JNJ Pinewood securing a good point against Synthes UK 1 in a game they could have won and Maidenhead 1 taking all 3 points from their opening match.

A win for either team would represent a very solid start to the tournament. The first half came and went with neither team able to break the deadlock. We kicked off and finished the second half with the scorers untroubled as we had our first 0-0 draw of the day. It was a well fought point for both teams who both remained unbeaten at the end of Round 2.

It was arguably a better result for Maidenhead 1 who would join Synthes UK 1 at the top of Group B on four points. For JNJ Pinewood, they say on 2 points and would hope to kick-on and turn these draws into wins to surge up the table as the group progressed.
