JNJ Middle East and Beeston Operation Leeds took to the field at the start of Round 3. JNJ Middle East were looking to build on their opening victory whilst Beeston Operation Leeds were looking to put two defeats behind them.

JNJ Middle East made their debut at the 2014 JNJ Euro Soccer Tournament in Bratislava. They also became the first team to compete from outside Europe. They had a tough start against defending champions JNJ Russia A losing narrowly 2-1. They didn't have to wait long for their first win as they defeated JNJ High Wycombe B and GBS Reds in quick succession. A 3-1 defeat to JNJ Serbia and a 1-0 loss to Tekkers Lovakia halted their progress but they had done enough to finish 4th and qualify for the Plate competition. Their day ended at the Semi-Final stage losing to JNJ Russia B via Golden Goal.

At the 2015 edition of the tournament in Prague they had a tough time in a tough group and finished 5th in the table despite being highly competitive in 4 of their 5 games. It meant they would qualify for the Plate competition again. They were on their way with a fine 5-2 Quarter-Final victory to earn a Semi-Final against Cilag Team 2. The game ended in a 1-1 draw and a 3-2 penalty shoot-out defeat prevented them reaching a first final.

On the field in 2016 the team were well on their way to victory #2. Mohammed Abu Matar opened the scoring before Peter Lane made it 2-0. In the second period goals from Mohammed Abu Matar and Matt Tominey made it 4-0 and meant JNJ Middle East had 2 wins in 2 games.

Beeston Operation Leeds search for their first points would continue.

Maidenhead 1 and Janssen Portugal were back in action and the next teams to take to the field on Pitch B. Maidenhead 1 had made a promising start with 4 points from a possible 6. If they could secure their second win of the morning then they would go top.

Janssen Portugal had made a good start to their campaign in terms of performance but it was a losing start to Synthes UK 1. They had competed well and almost got a point from the game. A point looked on the cards at the half-way point in this game as we reached the interval level at 0-0.

Maidenhead 1 were yet to concede a goal in the tournament and with such a strong defense they were always likely to get good value for their goals at the other end. So, when Andrew Lewis scored in the second period his goal had every chance of earning all 3 points for his team. Janssen Portugal were unable to breach the English team's defence and Maidenhead 1 ran out 1-0 winners. They were top!

Slavoj Consumer came into Round 3 having just secured their first win of the day and would no doubt have renewed confidence having suffered defeat in the opening round. JNJ Pinewood had won 2 points from 2 draws in their opening fixtures and would now look to kick on and get that first win of the day under their belts.

With JNJ Pinewood's games being so tight it was perhaps no surprise that we reached half-time all level at 0-0. JNJ Pinewood were involved in a goal-less draw last time out but that would not be the case this time. We were to see a goal in the second half but it would only be 1 goal. Who would be the match-winner?

Cometh the hour, cometh the man and that man was Ellis Benn. He scored a couple of goals for JNJ Pinewood at the Prague 2012 event and was now on the mark here in Krakow four years later. His goal earned all 3 points for his team who now had their first win and were unbeaten in 3 games at the start of this tournament.

Slavoj Consumer slipped from third place to fifth position in the table but with three games left were still very much in the hunt for Cup qualification.
