As we entered the fifth round of games each match was becoming progressively more important. Games were running out and points were becoming increasingly valuable.

This was especially true for Clandestinos. They were currently in fourth position but had a game in hand on two of the three teams above them. If they could win this they would go joint second in the table and be right in the mix to qualify for the Cup.

For DDCH, Cup qualification was unlikely but having picked up their first win then a surge up the table and possible Plate success was on the cards if they could get into the winning habit. If they were to win this one then they would need to come from behind. Clandestinos number 7, Gianluca Ft, scored for the third game running to put the Polish team 1-0 up.

DDCH were on an upward trajectory of form though and Tom Edmonds bagged his second goal of the day to get his team back on level terms. It was a goal that would earn his team a 1-1 draw.

Fabryka Zieleni were home to The Post Office in the next game. The Post Office were riding the crest of a wave with two wins from their last two games. This game would represent a monumental challenge though. Just how big a challenge?

Well, in the 2018 edition of this tournament Fabryka Zieleni recorded 5 wins out of 5 in the group phase and today they had 3 wins out of 3. They had a 100% record in the group phase and spanning that 8 game run they had scored a whopping 47 goals and conceded just 4. The Post Office – we wish you luck!

The game went with the form book as Fabryka Zieleni opened the scoring. Lukasz Abryszinksi scored his eighth goal of the tournament to put his team ahead. Him and Andrej Mechlinski were forming a deadly partnership with both players scoring in evety game to date as Mechlinski made it 2-0. Those two players then extended that lead to 4-0.

Rick Edwards scored The Post Office's first goal of the tournament and he was to score their latest as he prevented Igor Koda walking off with a clean sheet for the Polish team.

Game 15 of Group B was a big game at the lower end of the table. Remember the top two qualified for the Cup, the teams in third to sixth qualified for the Plate and the 7th placed team would be eliminated. At the moment, that was Pink Lloyd B. They needed a result to climb out of that elimination position. They were playing the team immediately above them in the table – RAF Boulmer A.

A win for either of these teams would certainly go a long way to securing a place in the knock-out phase. This would be the case not only in terms of points but also psychologically. A defeat here could well be a knock-out blow before we got to the knock-out phase.

With the match underway it was Ben Blundell of RAF Boulmer A who opened the scoring. It was his fourth of the tournament in their fourth game so he was having a fine tournament. The goal-scoring baton was then passed to Michael Love who made it 2-0 and then 3-0.

The points looked in the bag although Steve Allen threw Pink Lloyd B a lifeline to make it 3-1 it was too little too late for the men in pink on this occasion.
