Round 3 started with RAF Boulmer A versus Clandestinos. RAF Boulmer had just had the one fixture so far where they had picked up a 2-2 draw. Clandestinos had played twice – lost 1, won 1. They both had level goal differences at kick-off.

RAF Boulmer's B squad were flying (excuse the pun) in Group A so the A team had a lot to live up to and emulate. A win here would do them the power of good. There was nothing between these two teams in what was to be a very close contest.

The two teams were locked together at 0-0 and it looked for all the world like RAF Boulmer would make it 2 draws out of 2 but there was a sting in the tail. It was Clandestinos who were doing the stinging and RAF Boulmer A who were stung.

A Gianluca Ft goal in the closing stages took all 3 points for Clandestinos who now had 2 successive wins to cheer.

We mentioned in Round 2 that DDCH had been dealt a particularly difficult fixture list with Fabryka Zieleni (2018 Gdansk runners-up) and Big Time Krakow (2017 Krakow Trophy winners) in their first two games. Well, Pink Lloyd B had exactly the same tricky start.

Pink Lloyd B had suffered a 7-0 loss last time out so would no doubt aim to improve on that. They conceded the first goal though thanks to Carlos Diaz Bedmar. Pink Lloyd B soon had something to cheer though as Will Bailey-Watson scored their first of the tournament. At 1-1 they were back in it.

There was to be no shock on the cards though as Big Time Krakow re-established their lead. Daniel Tonev scored twice to wrestle the game back into his team's favour. Carlos Diaz Bedmar then put them 4-1 up and in control.

Big Time Krakow then boosted their goal difference thanks to Alex Herrera and Daniel Tonev's hat-tick goal. Final score, 6-1.

The next game was between The Post Office and DDCH. The teams found themselves in fifth and sixth position at the start of play. No doubt each team would eye this game as an opportunity to get a first win on the board and propel the victor up the Group B table.

When you get off to a slow start in a tournament it is important when you enter the next game to score the opening goal and raise morale. The first goal in this game went to Chris Fairbairn – a goal that his team could well gain some impetus from. Conversely it was important for DDCH not to let heads drop as they sought out an equalizer.

An equalizer for DDCH though proved elusive and in fact it was The Post Office who doubled their lead. It was Chris Fairbairn again who doubled his tally for the day. Fairbairn's goal combined with a solid defence and a clean sheet for Anthony Wilcox ensured all 3 points would go to The Post Office. They moved up to fourth position in the table.
