We began Group B with The Post Office versus RAF Boulmer A. Both teams were on debut and so they had a blank canvas upon which to paint their footballing artistry. Let the games commence……

It was The Post Office who struck the opening blow as Tim Key was the man to claim the record of scoring his team's first goal in European competition. Key raced clear on the inside left channel and he opened his body up to place a right footed shot past the dive of the goalkeeper to make it 1-0. The Post Office were to be pegged back though. It was Ben Blundell who took the equivalent honour of first European goal for his RAF Boulmer team.

The next goal of the game saw The Post Office regain the lead. Paul Billingsley the man to hit the target. It looked like Paul Billingsley's goal would prove to be the winner but in the final moments of the game RAF Boulmer A equalized for a second time. Ben Blundell doubled his tally to rescued a point for his side. Final score, 2-2. It represented a solid start for both teams.

Match 2 in Group B saw Fabryka Zieleni (Pol) versus DDCH (Eng). This represented a really tough start for the English team as they were up against the Runners-Up from last year. Fabryka Zieleni (who played as Bulota PK at the September 2018 event) only missed out on the ultimate prize after a penalty shoot-out defeat in the Cup Final.

DDCH were on debut so we would not know what to expect from them at this stage. It was Fabryka Zieleni who started the stronger and showed their attacking intentions with Dariusz Frost hitting the cross-bar. It was not long before Fabryka Zieleni went ahead though as Andrey Mechlinski scored their opening goal of the tournament. They then extended their advantage through Dariusz Frost, Lukasz Abryszynski and Mateusz Janowski.

Although 4-0 down DDCH had something to cheer when Tom Edmonds pulled a goal back. Alas for them it was a mere consolation and wasn't the end of the scoring. Dawid Frost put the icing on a 5-1 cake for the Polish club.

The next two teams to get underway in Round 1 were Big Time Krakow and Clandestinos. It was Poland versus Poland as the travelling team from Krakow met the local Gdansk based team of Clandestinos.

Big Time Krakow had featured in our tournaments before with victory at the 2017 Krakow Trophy. They had intended to make the journey to Gdansk in September 2018 but had to withdraw so it was fantastic that their Gdansk appearance was merely postponed rather than cancelled.

After the early exchanges it looked like we had two well matched teams in an even contest. Big Time Krakow went ahead through Adrian Paz but his goal was cancelled out by a very good goal from Mouad Sallouli.

Things took a turn for the worse for Mouad Sallouli moments later as unfortunately put through his own net to give Big Time Krakow a 2-1 lead. It was an opportunity Big Time Krakow took full advantage of as Daniel Tonev and Jose Moreira goals ensured the men from Krakow would take all 3 points, 4-1.
