Round 3 started with Bure Park Old Boys. The former had only played one game so far and it was a narrow 1-0 loss against Mitre FC Vets. They had an opportunity to get their first points on the board against a Moldovan team that had recorded 3 points from their first two games although that doesn't tell the whole story. They lost to a very good FC Miracle and then destroyed Mitre FC Vets, 6-0.

Worryingly for Bure Park Old Boys it looked like FC Poloboc had just warmed up. The team in yellow came into the game full of goals and full of confidence. They carried that momentum into this fixture with Alexandru Borta opening the scoring to make it 1-0. Victor Zagorneanu doubled the lead to 2-0. It was then hat-trick hero from Round 2, Veaceslav Borta, who scored his fourth of the tournament to make it 3-0.

Given the 6-0 win in the last round this may be viewed as not too bad of a result for Bure Park Old Boys. It was however a second loss but they still had time to make their mark on Group B.

The next game was Mitre Vets FC versus Cheesecake FC. The teams were in fourth and fifth positions in the table respectively. This game could be pivotal for their fortunes going forward in Group B. Win it, and they'd be in the mix for the Cup. Lost it, and each team would be fighting it out for the Plate positions. A draw would leave the teams in limbo a little bit but would see them lose ground on the triumvirate above them.

Mitre Vets FC began well with a 1-0 win but crashed down to earth at the hands (or feet we should say) of FC Poloboc. Momentum can be a strong factor in these events so they may have feared the worst when they fell behind early to Cheesecake FC. Justin Rees was the man on target for them. To Mitre FC Vets credit they were back level with a Kieran Ahern goal. It was 2 in 3 games for him in the tournament. Justin Rees was putting in a captain's performance for his team as the Cheesecake #3 restored the lead (2-1) for his team.

Mitre FC Vets were showing their battling qualities though. Twice they had fallen behind but twice they had fought back. Martins Scott was the man on target in this game. The match finished Desmond (2-2) and the teams would have to settle for a share of the points. You'd feel Mitre FC Vets would be the happier of the two squads having trailed twice and maintaining the higher position in the table. For Cheesecake FC it was a second point but it could have been more. A great game for the neutrals to watch.
