It was becoming crunch time in Group A for the teams to begin their final push for Cup or Plate qualification. Bure Park Seniors were on Pitch A first in what would be their final fixture. Two Polish wins in Round 5 had meant that Cup qualification was now beyond Bure Park Seniors. This was their final group game and they would want to finish as high up as possible to secure the best possible draw in the knockout phase.

Their opponents were Atletico Funk for whom it would be Plate or bust. They currently had a point advantage over TNF in terms of Plate qualification. A win here would mean that, realistically, TNF would have to win their final two games to prevent Atletico Funk reaching the knockout phase.

Atletico Funk arguably had the most ‘jeopardy' on this game so maybe that helped focus the minds and the performance. Nick Moore scored his second of the tournament to open the scoring before Barney Wilde gave them some breathing space to make it 2-0. Those goals and a clean sheet secured all 3 points for Atletico Funk as they now looked odds on to reach the Plate.

Game 18 of Group A was TNF against AFC Blue Boys. AFC Blue Boys will have been buoyed by the previous result as it meant they now had the opportunity to go top of Group A heading into the final round of fixtures. At kick-off they were in third place on 10 points with the teams above on 12 points each.

It was last chance saloon for TNF. Atletico Funk's win meant they now realistically had to win both their final games to reach the Plate. They came into this match on the back of 4-0 and 4-1 defeats so psychologically it would require a monumental effort. They were also up against one of the strongest teams in the group. Not only that, AFC Blue Boys had huge motivation to go top of the table.

With the match underway, it was AFC Blue Boys who started off in determined fashion. They quickly moved into the ascendency and Lukasz Kowaluk in particular was on fire. He fired home two early goals to put his team 2-0 up. Marcin Zaluga then made it 3-0. Lukasz Kowaluk returned to complete his hat-trick and make it 4-0. It was the first hat-trick of the day in Group A. He was not done there though and added his fourth and AFC Blue Boys' fifth.

TNF would never give up though. They had the final say in their previous game and would do so again. This time with a Steven Kerr goal. Sadly it was another consolation and it could not prevent their elimination from the tournament. 5-1.
