With
teams representing China, England, Hungary,
Moldova and Poland assembled in Barcelona we
had 4 nations in with a chance of success when
we reached the Cup Semi-Finals. The final
saw Moldova versus Poland as FC Poloboc met
AFC Blue Boys in what was a repeat of the 2023
Mallorca Veterans Cup Semi-Final. Moldova won
that battle 2-1 and they won this battle 3-0
to take home the golden trophy and winners'
medals.
In
the Plate competition it was JK Silvertown who
emerged victorious as they defeated Lucanos
Locos 1-0 in the final that meant it was Poland
who finished runners-up in both the Cup and
the Plate. JK Silvertown had previously played
in three of our Amsterdam events with the switch
to Barcelona in 2023 proving hugely successful.
For
the individual honours, Chris Wright won the
top scorer prize with 11 goals. It was his second
golden boot after winning the same prize at
the 2018 Amsterdam Fives.
Well
done to everyone for an amazing day of competition
and thank you to all teams who participated
and played the tournament in such a great spirit
and atmosphere. We hope to see you all again
soon.
