From
the opening whistle, the atmosphere was electric
as both teams sought to claim the coveted title.
FC NoeNoe, who had emerged as the tournament's
top scorers, struck first. Aryan Janatgol capitalized
on a defensive lapse to put FC NoeNoe ahead,
displaying the clinical finishing that had seen
them net 18 goals in 6 games before this final.
The
Humble Goats, known for their rock-solid defence
with only one goal conceded prior to the final,
responded with determination. Their efforts
paid off when Raphael Olivero Hernandez found
the equalizer, demonstrating why the team had
remained unbeaten in their last 12 matches since
the 2023 Amsterdam Sixes Cup Semi-Final. The
game took a dramatic turn when Jeremy Freyne,
one of the Goats' top scorers, won a penalty.
With the weight of expectation on his shoulders,
Freyne calmly converted the spot-kick to give
the Goats a 2-1 lead. However, FC NoeNoe, unbeaten
and resilient, levelled the score just before
halftime through their talismanic forward Haroun
Kamarkheyl. The first half ended in a 2-2 deadlock,
setting the stage for a tense second half.
As
the second half commenced, both teams knew the
next goal could be decisive. Kamarkheyl, continuing
his phenomenal form, struck again to put FC
NoeNoe ahead 3-2. The goal showcased why he
was the tournament's top scorer with 10 goals,
his skill and precision proving too much for
the Humble Goats' defence.
With
time running out, the Humble Goats threw caution
to the wind, pushing their goalkeeper forward
in a desperate bid to equalize. This risky strategy
backfired when Munib Ur Rahman intercepted a
loose ball and calmly slotted into an empty
net, sealing the game at 4-2. Despite the Goats'
relentless pressure and several close attempts,
FC NoeNoe held their opponents at bay.
We
offer our consolations to Humble Goats who were
absolutely superb on the day (yet again) and
put in a stunning effort. They can be very proud
of their efforts and can consider themselves
unlucky that with just 1 defeat in 13 games
in 2024 they haven't picked up a title this
year. I am sure 2025 can not come soon enough
for them to put that right.
Our
congratulations go to FC NoeNoe – 2024 Amsterdam
Sixes Champions! It was a great victory and
a sensational way for them to announce themselves
on the eurofootballfives.com scene. They were
worthy winners and we invite them back next
year to defend their title.
Thank
you to all the teams who competed – it was a
fantastic day. We hope to see you all again
at another eurofootballfives.com tournament
very soon.
