Game 10 in Group B was a big one – it was the league leaders Kavlow versus Team Tapas. There was just the one point separating the two teams in the table.

Kavlow had 2 big wins so far today (4-1, 4-0) with a 3-3 draw in between. They remained unbeaten with a goal difference of +7. Team Tapas had got off to a flyer with 2 wins from their first 2 games scoring 9 without conceding. They lost heavily last time out (5-1) so we wondered if this would effect them or if they would be able to bounce back.

We witnessed a very even game as you would expect from a top of the table game as Team Tapas had seemingly returned to form. There was to be just one goal to separate the teams in the first half and that goal went to Jeremy Tudorpole who maintained his goal per game scoring run.

1-0 at half-time became 1-0 at full-time and Kavlow marched on. They extended their lead to 4 points at the top of the table (temporarily at least).

Shamrock Football Club (Swi) were up next against ZVC Indoor Gent (Bel). The teams had similar experience so far today – both teams had lost their opening game and then returned with two games unbeaten.

Shamrock Football Club picked up a 3-3 draw in their second game (against the league leaders) and then a 2-1 victory. They currently sat in fourth place but could go second with a win here.

ZVC Indoor Gent had put first game defeat behind them to storm back not only with two wins but two big wins. They saw off FC Gijon 5-0 and then Team Tapas 5-1. They continued their thundering form here.

Tommy Jacobs has scored 8 in his last 2 games and it was perhaps no surprise that he scored the first two goals here. Alecandro Goemans made it 3-0 before Lewis Ball pulled one back for 3-1. William Chimkovitch re-established the three goal lead at half-time, 4-1.

Martin Aelterman made it 5-1 and the game looked done. Shamrock Football Club scored a couple of late consolations to reduce the deficit to 5-3 but, alas for them, it was too little too late.

The final fixture of Group B, Round 4 was FC Gijon versus East Anglia Dons. These were the two teams in fifth and sixth position and both teams needed a result to try and qualify for the knock-out phase.

East Anglia Dons were in the healthier position of the two teams. They were a point off fourth position and with a win could go joint third. FC Gijon were in greater need of the points, a defeat would see them eliminated with a match to spare. If they could pick-up a win then just 1 point would separate 4th to 6th positions and set up a thrilling finale in Round 5 for that last Plate qualification place.

At the end of the first half we were locked together at 1-1. Tom Morris was the man to open the scoring for East Anglia Dons but FC Gijon were level thanks to James Longman.

In the second half FC Gijon wrestled control of the game away from their opponents as Craig Gill scored twice to make it 3-1. Nick Harding then made it 4-1 before Josh Morris pulled a goal back for 4-2. Kieran Eastwood increased the lead to 5-2 before James Longman added another for 6-2. Craig Lawrence had the final say to make it 6-3 but it was FC Gijon who took all 3 points. A vital 3 points for them.
