Group B began with Team Tapas hosting FC Gijon. The home team were making their eurofootballfives.com debut.

FC Gijon (Eng) were returning to the Amsterdam Sixes for another crack at glory. 12 months ago proved to be a successful tour as they lifted the Plate trophy aloft. 2 wins and 3 defeats saw them finish 4th in the table but with a healthy 12-8 goal difference. They defeated Switzerland's FC Letcom in the Semi-Final before playing Top Bunners in the Final. The game ended 1-1 in normal time but FC Gijon won the day courtesy of a penalty shoot-out.

It was Team Tapas who made the early inroads at the start of Group B. Pedro Dans opened the scoring for the home team in the first half. After the break Team Tapas doubled their lead thanks to a Miguel Silva goal. It got even better when Lander Gram Arteala made it 3-0. Joachim Mariscador rounded off a superb opening game as he made it 4-0.

FC Gijon should console themselves that all games would not be this tough and they had plenty of time to recover.

Shamrock Football Club (Swi) became ever-present when they appeared at the 2019 Amsterdam Sixes. They appeared 2 years ago at the inaugural event and again last year as FC Letcom. In 2017 they had a pretty good debut as they came storming out of the blocks to record four wins from their first four fixtures – even a defeat in the last group game could not prevent them winning Group A. They would meet TEDO3 in the Semi-Finals but missed out on a debut Cup Final by the odd goal as they lost 1-0.

Today Shamrock Football Club opened up against East Anglia Dons (Eng) who were making their first appearance at a eurofootballfives.com tournament.

It proved to be a great start for East Anglia Dons as they established a 2-0 first half lead. Matt Hart had the honour of scoring his team's first goal in eurofootballfives.com competition and then Josh Morris grabbed the second. There was no additional score in the second half as East Anglia Dons took all 3 points.

Match 3 was Kavlow (Eng) on debut versus ZVC Indoor Gent (Bel). Kavlow were on eurofootballfives.com debut. ZVC Indoor Gent were making their second eurofootballfives.com appearance on the season.

ZVC Indoor Gent played at the 2019 Algarve Open back in June. They had a successful group campaign which saw them finish Group A unbeaten. They had 2 wins and 3 draws which saw them finish in third position and qualify for the Plate competition. In the knock-out phase they defeated Show Me Da Mane 2-0 in the Quarters and then Allez Les Pinos 2-0 in the Semis. In the Plate Final they drew 1-1 with Trilution but won the title 2-0 on penalties.

The Belgians found it tough going in their first game here. Kavlow raced to a 3-0 lead at half-time as Chad Bryce Borthwick claimed his team's first goal in Europe. He also claimed the second to make it 2-0 before Jeremy Tudorpole opened his personal account. At the start of the second half Tommy Jacobs reduced the lead to 3-1 but Jeremy Tudorpole re-established the three goal lead at 4-1 which is how we finished. It was a great start for Kavlow.
