Purnell Youth had experienced a tricky start to a tournament with 3 defeats so far. They were up against Spider Mans & Eagles who began well with a 2-0 win but had seen their progress since stall with 2 defeats. With two games to go they could still get their campaign on track but they had to win both their final games and hope some other results would go their way.

Spider Mans & Eagle returned to winning ways in style. Sam A'Court scored for the second game running before Ryan Stevens added #2 and #3. Steve Wildman added a fourth to put Spider Mans in charge at the change of ends. They showed no sign of letting up after the break with Ryan Stevens adding another couple to his tally with Liam Stevens also getting in on the act.

There was a couple of landmark goals in there as Liam Stevens' and Steve Wildman's strikes put them joint third on the all-time list of scorers for Spider Mans in eurofootballfives.com competition. They moved on to 11 along with Richard Eggleston and Ali Stewart. Ryan Stevens (24) and Nick McIntosh (16) lead the way incidentally.

There was a consolation for Purnell Youth with Tarbo finding the back of the net but things were looking bleak for them. In fact, the defeat confirmed they would not be able to qualify for the knock-out phase.

Due to Vieze Vu/Toros playing in both the Fives and Sixes it caused a little bit of a fixture congestion (don't worry – we won't be calling for a winter break). We therefore had to play around with the schedules to keep the tournament running on time overall. It meant the next game on Pitch B would be Spider Mans & Eagle versus TEDO3.

This would be both teams final fixture and the last time to put some points on the board. For TEDO3, a win would put them safely through to the Cup and potentially as Group B champions (subject to Ladzio FC's final result). A draw or defeat could potentially see them miss out if Ladzio and Toros got the results they required.

The draw in the previous game meant that Spider Mans & Eagle could no longer reach the Cup. They would play in the Plate competition but we did not yet know if they would be third or fourth.

This game proved to be quite a remarkable one. TEDO3 had 4 clean sheets to their name so far but that record would end in sensational style. They were hit for six by Spider Mans & Eagle.

Richard Eggleston got the scoring underway before his team-mates piled in. There was a hat-trick for Ryan Stevens, a goal for Steve Wildman and an OG to help them on their way – not that they needed much help. Ryan Stevens moved on to 9 for the tournament and he currently lead the goal-scoring charts.
