There was good news at the start of Round 2. In Round 1 we mentioned that Toros were a no-show. Well, Vieze Vu from the Fives tournament offered to step in and make up the numbers and play in the Sixes (as Toros) as well as play in the Fives under their real name of Vieze Vu. It was a great gesture from the team and it meant we would have a full fixture list bar that walkover in Round 1.

Vieze Vu/Toros would start Group B at a disadvantage given the 3-0 walkover they conceded in Round 1. Time was still on their side to make up the difference and they would start off against Spider Mans & Eagle.

Spider Mans & Eagle had three points on the board courtesy of their 2-0 win over Bull Fossils A in Round 1. In their quest to build upon this result they found themselves a goal behind to Toros with Tim Van Gelder on the scoresheet.

The two teams exchanged a goal each in the second half Justin Shelley finding the net for Spider Mans & Eagle. It was Tim Van Gelder again with the goal for Toros who picked up their first win. The 1-1 draw meant we had four teams level on 3 points in Group A. It was obviously early days though.

Game #5 of Group B was Ladzio FC versus Bull Fossils A. Ladzio FC had won their first game and could move away from the back if they could make it 2 wins from 2. If Bull Fossils A were to win then we would have 5 of the 6 teams all on 3 points.

If you take Ladzio FC's form back to the 2016 Barcelona Fives they were now on a run of three successive victories in our tournaments coming into this game. They blitzed the first half here and looked on to make that four successive wins. Captain Jas Bhattle scored the first two of the game before Osman Mohammed Ahmed continued his fine early form – he had a hat-trick in Round 1 and was amongst the goals again here to make it 3-0 to Ladzio.

Bull Fossils A came back into it in the second half. They stemmed the flow at one end and got on the scoresheet themselves thanks to a J McNicoll goal. Final score, 3-1.

To complete Round 2 we had Purnell Youth versus TEDO3. TEDO3 had suffered a long wait to get their tournament campaign under way on the field. This was due to Toros's no-show (before Vieze Vu stepped into the breach). TEDO3 picked up a 3-0 walkover in Round 1 and they would now get their first chance to show what they could do on the pitch.

Purnell Youth had lost their opener but had a chance to put that right in Round 2. TEDO3 must have been champing at the bit to get started and they looked to be making up for lost time as they raced into a 2-0 lead by half-time. Lysander Klanhenberg was the man to score their first goal in eurofootballfives.com competition. Aren Van Muijen quickly followed up with their second.

In the second half TEDO3 continued from where they left off with Aren Van Muijen deadly in front of goal as he scored TEDO3's third and fourth to complete his personal hat-trick and a fine 4-0 win over their English opponents.

We were 40% of the way through Group B and TEDO3 and Ladzio FC lead the way.
