We were now approaching the business end of the tournament with each team now having two games to go to stake their claim for Cup/Plate qualification. Bull Fossils B and FC Letcom were up first in Round 4.

FC Letcom continued to boast a 100% record as they currently sat pretty at the top of Group A. For the second game in a row they would play the team at the foot of the table which was now Bull Fossils B. They had an ideal opportunity to keep their record going and secure Cup qualification with a game to spare (as their two nearest rivals were due to meet later in Round 4).

In Round 3 when FC Letcom played Tommy Hilfiger they had a bit of a scare as they trailed 1-0 at the break. There was to be no repeat here against Bull Fossils B but they also found it tough going. Bull Fossils B held their own in the opening period and the two teams went into the interval all square at 0-0.

After the break FC Letcom found their goal-scoring touch and moved ahead courtesy of a Ryan Clark strike. Serkan Karaagac then put them in control to make it 2-0 and the result was complete when Ameen Ahmed's second of the tournament made it 3-0. FC Letcom would be playing Cup football this afternoon.

Round 4 of Group A continued with the two teams in fourth and fifth place meeting face to face. Tekkerslovakia currently occupied fourth position with a return of 3 points to date. A win here though would change the complexion of the table as they would move on to 6 points for a three-team tie in joint 2nd. Cheesecake FC and Skackney FC were due to play each other after this so should that be a draw then it was game on.

Tommy Hilfiger came into the game having played out a 0-0 draw in Round 1 but they failed to build on that with two defeats in a row. That said, they were leading the league leaders FC Letcom for some time in the last round so they were certainly no pushovers.

The referee blew his whistle for kick-off and the teams put in a great effort but had nothing to show for their exploits at half-time. We were all level at 0-0. As is so often the case in our tournaments the second half is where things opened up in terms of goals. If you're a Tekkerslovakia fan look away now as it was Tommy Hilfiger who enjoyed themselves in front of goal.

Josh Hall (2) and Luis Moreno Tello were both on target as they wrapped up a 3-0 win and leapfrogged their opponents to climb up to fourth position.

Up next on Pitch A was FC Skackney versus Cheesecake FC. These two teams were effectively battling it out for second position. They were both on 6 points at kick-off and it was possible for either team to still win Group A should they win this, also win their final game and for FC Letcom to slip up. However, we are sure second place and Cup qualification was the foremost ambition at this stage. Win this game and the victors had one foot in the Cup (metaphorically speaking). A draw would slightly favour Cheesecake FC who had the better goal difference of the two.

It was a European game but with a strong antipodean flavor. As we know, Skackney FC were representing New Zealand. The Cheesecake FC line-up had Australian Justin Rees in their ranks to give this game some added Southern hemisphere rivalry.

Lo and behold it was the Australian Justin Rees who put his team 1-0 up in the first half goal. He moved on to three goals for the tournament. His team-mate Jamie Ingley joined him on three tournament goals as he made it 2-0. That's how it stayed until half-time.

There was no way back for Skackney FC in the second half. Gavin McEvoy and his Cheesecake FC defence kept their third clean sheet in four games as they secured the 2-0 win. They were now odds-on favourites to claim that second Cup qualification space.
