Group B began with two teams familiar to eurofootballfives.com competition: Spider Mans & Eagle versus Bull Fossils A.

Both teams had played in the Amsterdam Fives before . Spider Mans were here in Amsterdam last July. A break with tradition saw them enter as Spider Mans 1s and Spider Mans Ressies. The 1s team began well – 3 wins out of 4 saw them 2 nd in Group C behind the eventual champions. A narrow 1-0 defeat saw them exit at the hands (feet?) of Paralytic Athletic in the Quarter-Finals. The Ressies also did ok with 2 wins and 1 draw from their 4 games as they finished 2 nd also to qualify for the Cup. They lost 4-0 to eventual champions Benecke in the Quarter-Finals.

Bull Fossils were here the year before (more on this later in the report) where they did pretty well and were due to finish third in their group before the tournament was curtailed.

The final teams in Group B to start their challenge were Purnell Youth versus Ladzio. Purnell Youth were on debut but Ladzio FC had previous eurofootballfives.com experience.

Ladzio FC (Eng) began their eurofootballfives.com careers at the 2016 Barcelona Fives. They got off to a slow start before finding their feet at the end of the group stage. They won their last two games 2-0 v Prospe FC (Spa) and 1-0 v Atletico Bardino (Ita). It was not quite enough for them to qualify for the knock-out phase and so were eliminated. A quicker start in Amsterdam and who knows what they could do?

Ladzio FC did indeed start well and they found themselves a goal up by half-time with Osman Mohammed Ahmed scoring their first goal of the day. In the second half Ladzio FC stretched away from their opponents with Osman Mohammed Ahmed going on to score a hat-trick. There was also a goal for Usman Mohammed Ayub as Ladzio got off to a flyer.

There was little to cheer for Purnell Youth save for a goal from Brad Hooper which proved to be a consolation in a 4-1 defeat.
