The
next game on Pitch A was Bull Fossils B versus
Tekkerslovakia versus Bull Fossils B. The former
had picked up a decent point in Round 1 whereas
the latter suffered a narrow defeat in their
opening game against Cheesecake FC.
Both
teams were looking to break their duck in the
goal-scoring stakes. Tekkerslovakia set this
particular record straight in the first half
here as Stu Isaac would go down in the history
books as the first man to score for Tekkerslovakia
in Europe. It was a well-taken goal slid in
with power at the goalkeeper's near post.
In
the second half Bull Fossils B found themselves
level after B. Bough converted from a corner
to make it 1-1. The game's winning moment came
after Stu Isaac found an incisive pass to Graham
Connolly who found himself in acres of space.
Connolly calmly slotted the ball through the
oncoming keeper's legs and tucked away the winning
goal. For the rest of the game, the Tekkerslovakia
defence held strong limiting opportunities for
Bull Fossils B to level it up again. At the
other end Tekkerslovakia had chances to extend
the lead and even missed a penalty which would
have given them some breathing space.
Final
score, 2-1 and a first European win for Tekkerslovakia.
