Raiders Amsterdam (Ned)

Group B began with WWK DB (Ned) hosting Cream of the South (Eng). The English team were making a third appearance in our events and a second in Amsterdam. They played at the 2022 Amsterdam Sixes where they began in fine style with a 2-1 win over Real Sosobad (Hol). A narrow 1-0 loss followed to Murder on Zidane's Floor (Hol) before a 3-1 defeat to Portugal's RAF. A 3-1 loss to Freshers FC and 2-0 loss to Ball Bashers followed – these would be the eventual Plate and Cup champions respectively. It was a tough group and they'd hope for a kinder draw this time.

The Dutch team, already touted as potential winners of the event by the venue manager on the eve of the tournament, lived up to the early expectations with a commanding performance. WWK DB took control of the match right from the start, with Illias Baduan making a significant impact by scoring the first two goals. His early efforts gave the Dutch side a comfortable 2-0 lead.

Julian Markvoort then took center stage in the second half, adding two more goals to his team's tally. His contributions further solidified WWK DB's dominance on the field, leading to a final score of 4-0. The match concluded with a decisive 4-0 victory for WWK DB, highlighting their strength and establishing them as a team to watch in the tournament. Cream of the South were unable to find a way back into the game and will need to regroup as they continue their campaign in Group B.

Scoop FC were on debut and they were to meet Mngball FC who made their first appearance at our events in the 2023 Krakow Trophy (6-a-side).Mngball FC had a tough opening game against Portugal's RAF which they lost 3-1. A first win was not far away though as they defeated CBT FC, 2-0. They slipped to a 2-1 loss against Turn Down For Watford before beating previous winners Big Time Krakow by the same score, 2-1. They won their final fixture 2-0 against Cream of the South as they finished third in the table. It meant Plate qualification. There was a thumping 7-1 win over Krwiodawcow Cracovii in the Semi-Finals before they met Big Time Krakow for a second time. Big Time Krakow are 2x winners on our circuit at the 2018 Krakow Trophy and 2019 Gdansk Tournament. The Polish team avenged their group defeat to win the Plate Final, 2-0.

Mngball FC took an early advantage with Aaron White scoring the only goal of the first half, giving them a 1-0 lead at the break. The Dutch side continued their momentum into the second half, with James Evans adding a second goal, extending their lead to 2-0.

However, Scoop FC showed resilience and determination as they mounted a comeback. Joshua Bright was the hero for Scoop FC, scoring twice to level the match at 2-2. His goals ensured that Scoop FC earned a valuable point from the game.

The final two teams to kick-off their campaigns in Group B were FNF on Tour and Raiders Amsterdam – the latter playing for the first time in a eurofootballfives.com event.

FNF On Tour (Eng) debuted here at the 2023 Amsterdam Sevens and return for another crack at the title in 2024. The made a good start last year by securing an opening 1-0 win over Bear Ballers (Fra). They slipped to a narrow 1-0 defeat to defending champions Humble Goats next but were back to winning ways against Billit Dreamz, 1-0. They secured a third clean sheet in four games as they drew 0-0 with Dynamo Leila. In the final group game they needed to avoid defeat to qualify for the Cup but lost 1-0 to Apolo Legends. They finished third in the table and went through to the Plate Semi-Finals. They beat El Cholo 1-0 as their results continued to come in binary form. There were goals galore in the Plate Final as they met Dynamo Leila for the second time. Sadly for FNF on Tour they missed out on the trophy as they lost 3-2.

The first half here in 2024 saw both teams battle evenly, with neither side managing to break the deadlock, resulting in a 0-0 scoreline at the interval. The only goal of the match came in the second half, scored by Adewunmi Oluwo for FNF on Tour. His decisive strike proved to be the difference-maker, leading to a 1-0 victory for his team. FNF on Tour's narrow win secured them three important points, while Raiders Amsterdam were left to reflect on a hard-fought game where they narrowly missed out on a share of the spoils.
