Godalming
Greens maintained their position on top of Group
B with their second 3-1 win in as many games.
This time BA Speedbirds were to be their victims.
Following their 0-0 opening draw there was to
be no second clean sheet for the BA Speedbirds
keeper as the Godalming strikers found the net
on 3 occasions. Rosa Leonard opened the scoring
followed by Alice Sugden again scoring twice and
after two games she was tournament's top scorer
with 4 goals. Jayshree “Bad Ass” Badan scored
BA Speedbird's first goal in the Albufeira Fives.
Eastwood
high, following their confident start against
BA Speedbirds, registered their first win of the
tournament and jumped up to second place in the
Group B standings. A 2-0 victory over Sherrardswood
Ladies and still to concede a goal meant the Scottish
challenge was on. Fiona McMillan opened the scoring
in this fixture with a second goal from Stephanie
Fraser sealing the three points.
On
pitch A, Ebirds and CAAF Alte “B” fought out a
competitive 0-0 draw to register their first points
of the tournament. Would this kick-start their
campaigns? Pitch A was proving to be the goal
graveyard with the second goal-less draw in as
many games.
