Group
B kicked off with Godalming Greens against CAAF
Alte “B”. The English team were quickly into their
stride against their Portuguese opposition and
picked up the first 3 points of their campaign.
Alice Sugden opened her goal tally account scoring
twice before Emma Nicholson completed the scoring
for Godalming. Daniella Paxan the scorer of CAAF

Eastwood
High of Scotland made their debut in the Albufeira
Fives against BA Speedbirds on pitch A. Boasting
one of the youngest squads of the competition
the eager Scots carried the game to BA Speedbirds
but alas there was to be no goals to reward their
attacking verve as both teams fought hard for
a well earned point in a 0-0 draw.
The
opening round in Group A was completed with Sherrardswood
Ladies and Ebirds taking to the field. In what
was to prove a tight group Sherrardswood Ladies
got off to the quicker start running out 3-1 winners.
Kathryn Jones proving to be the hero for Sherrardswood
with the first and third goals. The double-strike
marking her as an early contender for the golden
boot. Naomi Totten scored the other goal for Sherrardswood
whilst Lisa Hall scored the first goal of Ebirds
campaign.
