DHL Prague Blue (Cze)

DHL Prague Blue's second match was against the Widow Makers. Having won 9-0 first time round you may well have expected them to run riot in this match. As we had seen in their opening game though, the Widow Makers were a tougher nut to crack this year and when the team's turned around at half-time it was a solitary strike from DHL's David Asamoah that split the two teams.

David Asamoah was proving a formidable figure in this DHL Prague Blue team. With 5 goals in the opening game he went on to complete another hat-trick in this match. With 8 goals in 2 games he was the man to catch in the top goalscorer competition. His goals fired DHL Prague Blue to a 3-0 win and top spot in Group A on goal difference. We should also point out a special reference to goalkeeper Habib Ben Mansoura who was yet to concede a goal in the tournament with 2 clean sheets.

On to game 6 and SK Zelenec, joint top of Group A, met 5th placed IDC in a top v bottom contest. Both teams had a 100% record – one welcome, one not so welcome. The form book predicted a home win and the form book proved correct as SK Zelenec ran out comfortable 7-0 winners. The goals were shared around with Petr Hossler (2), Petr Brtka (3), Jiri Jindra and Stanislav Krebs all scoring. The result meant that SK Zelenec opened up a 3 point gap at the top with IDC still searching for their first points of the 2010 Prague Trophy.

Brighton & Hove Rockets went into their 3rd game buoyed by a comprehensive win in their previous game. They had a tough task though against a DHL Prague Blue team that had two wins out of two, scoring 12 and without conceding. Sadly for the English team there was to be no let-up in the Czech team's charge in what surely must be their best start to a eurofootballfives tournament. Marouen Ghadhab put them 1-0 up before Abdul Gadiri Barry stretched the lead to 2-0.

Brighton & Hove did not give up though and when Gary Cox became the first man of the day to defeat Habib Ben Mansoura it was 2-1 and the traveling team were right back in this match. The half-time whistle came and went with the score still 2-1. In the second half Chris McEntee completed the Rockets comeback and the game ended with the points shared at 2-2. The win meant DHL Prague Blue were 2nd with Brighton & Hove Rockets sitting in 3rd . Both looked good for Cup qualification at this stage.
