The first game of Round 2 saw Beating Chastards meet Grant Thornton. The former were looking to bounce back from opening game defeat and the prospect of playing a strong French team was probably not the ideal fixture. For Grant Thornton, they'd just missed out on opening game victory having to settle for a draw so needed a victory to press their claim in Group A.

Fateh Bekhouche opened the scoring for Grant Thornton and then Cedric Casterede, who was enjoying a fine start to the tournament, added a quickfire double to put his team 3-0 up. It was a commanding lead at half-time and the Beating Chastards must have wondered what hit them.

After the turnaround the English team were much improved and provided stern competition for Grant Thornton. The French team were unable to extend their lead although the Beating Chastards were unable to make a dent in that lead also.

At full-time, the score was the same as at half-time. Grant Thornton took all 3 points and moved to the top of the table.

As touched upon earlier, Skidmarks were making their third appearance in Mallorca. They were aiming to make it 3 tournament wins out of 3 and add to their trophy collection. On debut they claimed the 2011 Valencia Fives title and followed this up with victory in the 2012 Krakow Trophy.

It was a steady start with opening game draw but now they were looking for their first win in Mallorca to kickstart their challenge. In their way stood Son Gual who also opened up with a point in their first game.

Son Gual proved a tough test for Skidmarks as they had done with Policia Mallorca but their defence was breached for the first time today by Neil Taylor. It was a goal that was to give his side a 1-0 lead at the break.

As solid and competitive as Son Gual had been today they were yet to find the back of the opposition net. They took the game to Skidmarks but had no joy against a good goalkeeper and well organised defence. Skidmarks didn't add to their 1-0 lead but I'm sure that was not too much of a worry as they secured their first win of the day and all 3 points to join Grant Thornton at the top.

To complete the second round of fixtures was Policia Mallorca versus L.I.T.S. Policia Mallorca, the 2011 winners, would surely have aspirations of another win and so would need to take victory here following a point from their opening game. L.I.T.S had claimed a superb 4-0 win first time out and so could go top of the table with a win or a draw here.

The two teams cancelled each other out in the first period and we reached half-time all square at 0-0. After 3 halves of football, Policia Mallorca were yet to see a goal in their games – at either end. This was to change though when Antonio Bullon Pujol broke their duck. It was the first time Alex Hewlett in the L.I.T.S goal had been beaten today.

It was a crucial goal as it proved to be the match-winner and the difference between the two teams. Policia Mallorca joined Grant Thornton and Skidmarks on 4 points at the top. L.I.T.S were tucked in just behind on 3 points.
