With their first games under their belts it was Round 2 for all the teams in Group A and time to settle in to the tournament. Ball Bashers were the only travelling team in the line-up to boast a eurofootballfives.com title on their CV. They made a successful debut at the 2022 Amsterdam Sixes. It was a good introduction to our events with a 3-0 win over Murder on Zidane's Floor but they were then defeated 2-1 by RAF of Portugal. They recovered with 3 successive victories; 1-0 v Freshers FC, 5-1 v Real Sosobad and 2-0 v Cream of the South. In the Cup SF they defeated Dolce & Lallana 3-1 to set-up a final with 2x times Amsterdam Sevens champions, Humble Goats. The Ball Bashers engineered a superb 1-0 victory to come away with the winning trophy.

Today, they had got off to a flyer with a 3-0 win over Third Degree Burnley. It didn't take long for them to establish control in their second match against Solly March FC. Mati Ortiz, already on the scoresheet twice today, was in sensational form again. He opened the scoring with a powerful strike early in the first half, setting the tone for what would be a dominating display from Ball Bashers.

Solly March FC struggled to contain the pace and skill of Ortiz, and the Ball Bashers forward was relentless. Before halftime, he completed his hat-trick, showing his clinical finishing as he picked apart the Solly March defence. Despite a few attempts to get back into the game, Solly March FC couldn't find a way past the Ball Bashers' defence, who looked rock-solid throughout. In the second half, Ball Bashers were happy to manage the game, holding onto their 3-0 lead until full-time.

World Pinteur were making their 2nd appearance of the season and their 7th appearance with us overall. In June they played at the 2024 Prague Veterans. They began well with 2-0 and 3-1 wins over AFC Shooters and FC TPaktop. There was a surprise 1-0 defeat to Les 5 Salopards before a 2-2 draw with Shrewsbury Townsend. They were back to winning ways with a 2-1 over compatriots, The A Team. They finished the group with a 2-2 draw against 2023 Barcelona Veterans winners, FC Poloboc. They qualified for the Cup where they faced 4x eurofootballfives.com champions, FC Mahou. It was a hard fought 0-0 draw but they went out on penalties, 3-1.

Here in Krakow, World Pinteur were coming off a solid 2-0 win in their first match and looked to continue their winning ways, while Third Degree Burnley were eager to bounce back from a tough 3-0 defeat in their opening fixture.

The first half saw both teams struggle to create clear-cut chances, with the defences holding firm. The second half followed much of the same pattern. World Pinteur pushed forward in search of a winner but lacked the cutting edge to breach the Burnley defence. A couple of half-chances came their way, but nothing to trouble the goalkeeper too seriously. At the other end, Third Degree Burnley also lacked the firepower against a defence that was yet to concede in this tournament.

The game ended in a 0-0 stalemate, with Third Degree Burnley claiming their first point of the tournament. World Pinteur remained unbeaten but missed the chance to make it two wins from two.

Big Time Krakow's 2017 tournament victory was followed up by success at the 2019 Gdansk Tournament. They opened up with a 4-1 win against Clandestinos, 3-0 win over DDCH and 6-1 against Pink Lloyd B before a 4-1 defeat to Fabryka Zielini. They returned to winning ways with a 3-0 win against The Post Office and completed their group games with a 6-1 win over RAF Boulmer A. They qualified for the Cup Semi-Finals and completed safe passage into the final against RAF Boulmer B, 4-0. The Cup Final was a re-match against Fabryka Zielini and this time they drew 1-1 meaning the title would be decided on penalties. It was title #2 for BTK as they won 3-2 on spot kicks.

Today they had lost their opening game so needed to find form quickly if they were to claim a third title. On the other hand, RSC Andylecht had already picked up a point from their first match and were hoping to build on that. The game started with Big Time Krakow coming out of the blocks quickly with a slick passing move finding Reda Hocine in space, and he coolly slotted the ball past the RSC Andylecht goalkeeper, Ryan Peers, to give Big Time a 1-0 lead. RSC Andylecht were hit with a second setback shortly after. A mix-up at the back led to an unfortunate own goal, handing Big Time Krakow a 2-0 lead going into halftime.

The second half saw RSC Andylecht fight back. A determined effort led to a goal shortly after the restart. John Wrigley, already on the scoresheet in the first round, netted his second goal of the tournament, giving his side a glimmer of hope at 2-1. His finish brought the game back to life and set the stage for an interesting finale.

Despite RSC Andylecht's best efforts to push for an equaliser, Big Time Krakow managed to hold firm. Their defence stayed compact, and they saw out the remainder of the match without conceding again. Final score, 2-1.
