Plate Semi-Final time and things were getting interesting. First up All of Ronan's Men versus Deportivo Dooradoyle as Ireland met Ireland. All of Ronan's Men had gone through a grueling Quarter-Final to reach this stage having gone through extra time and penalties and would hope to they could go one stage further.

Their challengers were a Deportivo Dooradoyle team who had played in two Plate Semi-Finals before and won them both. They were victorious over Holland's CEPL in the 2011 Amsterdam Fives (CEPL incidentally went on to win the 2012 Amsterdam Fives Cup) and the Dooradoyle All-Stars team defeated Shahs of Sunset 2-0 in the 2013 Barcelona Fives. A hat-trick would do them just nicely.

At 2-0 at half-time, Deportivo Dooradoyle had put themselves in a commanding position. All of Ronan's Men had come from behind in the Quarter-Final but that was from just a goal behind. Although Ronan Silke scored his fourth goal of the tournament in the second half it ultimately proved to be in a losing cause. Deportivo Dooradoyle had already increased their lead to 3-0 before that strike and thereafter restored a 3-goal cushion at 4-1. Goals from Michael Lane (2), Sean O'Donnell and Pat Costelloe had seen them through.

We'd like to thank All of Ronan's Men for making the journey to Berlin to participate and it was great to have the opportunity to see you at the Post-Tournament Social on the Saturday night. We hope to see you on tour again.

The second Semi-Final was an encounter between Exeter Gently and Scandittack FC. There was history to be made for these two teams as neither had reached a eurofootballfives.com Final before. For one of these sides that would change in a short while's time.

Based upon previous results today we had nominally put Scandittack FC as favourites due to winning 3, losing 2 today and scoring 10 goals, conceding 9 today. Exeter Gently's record in comparison was 2 wins, 3 defeats and whilst they had scored the same number of goals (10) they had conceded more (16).

If you were a superstitious person you may worry for Scandittack FC though as their results had gone win-loss-win-loss-win…. They would not to stop that to go through to the Final.

Richard Sutton scored his 6 th goal of the day for Exeter Gently but it was to be his own and his team's last goal of the day as they lost this one 3-1. Goals from Thore Wilke, Karl-Andreas Flittner and Torben Godskessen booked their place in the Plate Final.
