Ben's
Bellends were next in action against FC Auslander
as two teams who came away from their opening
fixtures empty handed came face to face. If either
team could claim victory here they would make
it a four-way tie at the summit of Group D whereas
the losers would be cut adrift. A draw would leave
both teams in fourth and fifth struggling to make
up the ground on the teams at the top.
It
was a pretty even game that saw FC Auslander enter
half-time with a slender 1-0 lead thanks to Alejandro
Macias Sanchez's second goal in as many games.
After the break Paul Whitehead equalised for 1-1.
For
reasons touched on above a draw would not be the
best result in the world so could either team
grab that crucial and valuable victory. Cometh
the hour, cometh the man and that man was the
stag Ben Clissold scoring for the second time
in the tournament and earning all three points
for his team.
