With three teams sharing a lead at the top of Group B on three points there was a chance for two of these teams to forge a lead in the table and advance their Cup qualification claims. Both Multiple Scoregasms and Doddsy Stag A had won their opening fixtures and had a game in hand over Luso Team.

It was Doddsy Stag A who started the game the brighter and with the momentum of a 9-2 victory behind them established a 2-0 lead through Calum Britton and Matthew Dodds – both scoring for the second game in a row. They very much looked on course for making it two wins out of two but Multiple Scoregasms had other ideas.

With 5 minutes to go it was still 2-0 to Doddsy Stag A until Luke Wilczek reduced the deficit to 2-1. Will Powell then equalized for 2-2 before it got even better for his team when Stuart Dunlop made it 3-2. The comeback was complete.

Multiple Scoregasms were becoming specialists in comebacks and late winners – they'd done it both their games to date and led Group B by 3 points.

All of Ronan's Men were next in action against Multiple Scoregasms. On paper this looked a formality with All of Ronan's Men having played two and lost two against a team who was top of the table with a maximum 6 points. You'd have bet your house on another win for Multiple Scoregasms wouldn't you?

We hope you didn't as you'd be living in a cardboard box right now. This game produced a sensational result and a sensational revival of form from All of Ronan's Men. The Irish lads lead 2-1 at half-time.

At 2-1 they were far from safe though as Multiple Scoregasms had already overturned 1-0 and 2-0 deficits to claim victory in their opening two games so All of Ronan's Men still had a lot of work to do. A hat-trick of comebacks was ultimately beyond Multiple Scoregasms as we had another 2-1 scoreline in the second half – to All of Ronan's Men again – and the Irish team wrapped up a superb 4-2 victory.

Bryan Connell scored for the second game in a row, Ronan Silke scored his second of the tournament and there was a first goal of the day for Alan Dooley. Dave Finnerty also claimed another goal. For Multiple Scoregams Stuart Dunlop and Mike Classen both scored their second goals of the tournament.

We are sure that Luso Team and Doddsy Stag A had been expecting to come into the final game of Group B fighting it out for second place in the table. However, Multiple Scoregasms unexpected loss had opened the door for one of these teams not only to qualify for the Cup but also claim the Group B title.

Both teams could move onto 6 points with a win and then it would be down to goal difference to see if the winners of this game or Multiple Scoregasms would take the Group B title and in theory an easier Cup Quarter-Final fixture. With Multiple Scoregasms on a 0 goal difference it would be the winners of this game who would progress as champions as they would be guaranteed a positive goal difference.

What if the game finishes in a draw we here you ask? Well, Multiple Scoregams would be crowned champions and Doddsy Stag A would follow them into the Cup on “Goals Scored” as goal difference going into the game was the same.

Luso Team therefore knew they had to win this game and they wasted no time in achieving that goal. They raced into a 3-0 lead and there was no way back for Doddsy Stag A. The goals continued to flow after the break as 3-0 became 4-0 became 5-0 and then finally 6-0. David Teixeira scored twice to take his tally to six for the tournament. Antonio Teixeira scored his fourth of the day, Guillaume Da Silva his third and Rouag Drari scored his first two of the competition.

Luso Team would qualify for the Cup as champions with Multiple Scoregasms joining them. Doddsy Stag A and All of Ronan's Men would play Plate football this afternoon.
